A narrow alleyway between a wall and buildings. There is some sparse vegetation growing along the base of the walls on the left. The wet pavement reflects sunlight.

#Pareidolia #52WochenFotoChallenge #Photography

A dreamlike photograph featuring two peacock feathers set against a soft, cool-toned background.

One feather stands slightly higher than the other, both curving gracefully toward the right. The iconic "eyes" of the feathers are rendered in vibrant shades of cobalt blue, teal, and deep emerald green. The surrounding iridescent barbs show hints of purple and magenta.

In the upper-right background, there is a soft, out-of-focus shadow of a feather. This creates a sense of depth and adds a ghostly, mysterious quality to the image.

Two old model railway figures with suitcases stand on an even older map. The map shows part of the Dutch coast in 1901. Many of the dotted lines on the map go to the major ports of that period. For example, to the north (St Petersburg), east (Constantinople), south (Africa) and west (the Dutch Indies).

GE:

Caught in a world of gray and dreary hue,
I long for clouds, so soft and bright and blue…

In reality, it stands on a blue A3 piece of cardboard with some white cotton fluff in the background.

Smurfs Log: Holding hands

* I usually post my weekly photo later in the week. However, I'm not sure if my mom will still be with us. She has a strong heart and isn't ready to let go yet…

A black and white photograph captures a poignant moment of connection between two people, centered on their hands.

A smaller, more delicate hand with long fingernails and visible wrinkles rests inside the larger, more weathered palm of another hand.

It highlights the beauty of aging and the enduring nature of human connection through simple, physical contact.

2026/08 #Nachtfotografie

#52WochenFotoChallenge #Photography

A moody, cinematic long-exposure photograph that captures a sense of speed and urban isolation at night.

In the lower-right quadrant, a figure on a bicycle is captured in motion. You can see the glow of a headlight and a red taillight, though the rider's form is blurred into a ghostly silhouette.

The urban environment is abstracted into horizontal streaks of grey, blue, and black. Faint rectangular shapes suggest buildings, but they lack sharp definition.

The image uses a "cold" color grade, featuring deep navies, charcoal greys, and desaturated teals.

A top-down view of a forest floor rich in dark, earthy tones and fall colors. A dense layer of fallen leaves covers the ground, primarily in shades of deep orange, rust, and brown. Scattered patches of green grass and dry, pale-colored plant material are visible.

Slightly above the center of the frame, a mushroom's domed, scarlet cap instantly draws the eye. The small, distinct white flecks contrast with its bright red color, giving it a storybook appearance. Near the bottom center is a smaller splash of vivid red. A ruby-hued bloom finds itself adrift on the forest floor.

Weekend (Pastoral Landscape, Portrait Orientation)

2026/21 #PortraitImNatürlichenLicht #52WochenFotoChallenge

#SheepOfMastodon #Photography #Defaidodon

A peaceful rural scene featuring sheep resting and standing in a grassy pasture under a dramatic, cloudy sky.

In the foreground, a heavily fleeced sheep with small, curved horns is resting comfortably on the green grass. It is positioned in the lower-left to center-left area, looking directly forward toward the camera with a calm expression.

A larger, standing sheep with a very long, shaggy, dark grey-to-black fleece is positioned further back on the right side of the frame. It is turned slightly to the left, appearing to look across the field.

The sheep are on a vast, green meadow with patchier, dry grass mixed in. In the far background, a dense line of lush green trees forms a soft barrier between the field and the horizon.

A grave lantern from above: The glass body with an iridescent surface is covered by a round metallic-looking lid on which another small round handle is attached. Next to it is a small round white lamp on the floor. The focus is on the handle, everything else is blurred.

a large glass orb has been placed on a forest floor so that it reflects the green moss and the brown leaf litter as well as the trees that rise above it. The effect is a mixture of distortion and clarity - in the centre of the image you can see a buffoon pointing a camera at the ball of glass.
