Just sharing this reminder of a really glorious day in the #mountains .
I spent quite a bit of time to find exactly THIS spot so that fore and midground blended so well together.

And currently I'm having this as a background image in teams. Sometimes I wonder if this might look unprofessional - and then I think "maybe I don't care".

#photography #hiking #landscape #bavaria #alps #outdoors

A stunning landscape featuring a serene lake surrounded by majestic mountains and vibrant yellow flowers. The scene is set under a clear blue sky with fluffy white clouds adding to the picturesque view. The foreground is dominated by black trees and plants, creating a contrast with the bright yellow flowers. The image captures the essence of a peaceful wilderness, with lush green grass leading up to the tranquil lake. The overall color palette is accentuated by a warm golden hue, giving a feeling of a sunny summer day in nature.

It was almost a competition, each sapling reaching for the sunlight so that it could grow, and grow big. In not many years, the small copse of trees would become a little forest of its own.

Big pink cloud is a hand-painted acrylic painting in a unique horizontal panoramic format by the artist Karen Kaspar.
The abstract painting is painted with loose brushstrokes in shades of purple, pink and blue. Above the lower third in darker shades of pink and purple, a large rectangle in light shades of pink stretches across the upper third of the picture. It is reminiscent of a dreamy landscape in summer with a large pink cloud in the dark blue sky above a field of lavender in bloom.
The brushstrokes and gradient transitions evoke a soothing and calm atmosphere.

A photo taken from near the base of a mature tree, looking in an upward direction. The crown of this tree has yellowish orange leaves during the autumn season. The trees around it still have green leaves, so the image looks a bit like a sea of colour surrounded by green. Patches of blue sky can also be seen around the top of the tree. The trunk of the tree is about one and a half feet in diameter. The photo definitely has an autumn feel to it.

Following LP-sized pancakes at the North Pole in Newport on Saturday, our southeast Twin Cities metro ham radio club will administer tests at the church and then host a hidden-transmitter fox hunt.

Our club secretary thinks it'd be fun to dress up in fox suits. They're very popular.

I think we should get extra points, Field Day-style, for arriving on a horse, blowing a bugle, attracting press attention.

The ringleader of our fox hunt claims his girth affords 60dB attenuation, an important factor in radio direction-finding.

Here's a good introduction, and thorough:

'To the uninitiated, Fox Hunting may appear to be easy. "Take a bearing to the Fox. Plot it on a map. Move to another location. Plot the second bearing. Find the Fox where the bearings cross." In reality, Fox hunting can be difficult. It is a skill that can be learned, and some people have more innate talent for it than others.'
