Happy Autumn Equinox! The equinox is an astronomical event when the Sun is directly over the Earth’s equator before it dips for us in the northern hemisphere in the darker half of the year.
The Equilux is on Friday, This is the actual day of equal light, in the UK.
And happy spring equinox for those in the southern hemisphere ☀️. #autumnequinox
The O brook (the stream that runs under saddle bridge), yesterday, a lovely wild spot near Combestone tor, Dartmoor, #Devon. The area is the site of a rare dragon folklore story on #Dartmoor, although a relatively recent one, the dragon was seen in the tin mine workings in the 19th century. The ‘dragon’s breath’ reported by locals was most likely vapour from tin mining. #photography #folklore

Calf and wind blown hawthorn tree above Hexworthy on Tuesday, #Dartmoor, #Devon. It was wonderful to be so high, you could see the sky through the gaps in the stone walls. ☺️ #photography

One of my favourite places on Dartmoor is Wistman's Wood, and I took a friend to see it, on a warm and sunny day, earlier this month.
A short walk from the road takes you to a boulder-strewn hillside, densely-packed with stunted oaks, mosses, lichens, and ferns; a small oasis of residual temperate rainforest in the barren expanse of the Moor.
It's a magical spot.
