Some #photos from my husband’s lengthy Wednesday walk around the northern edge of #Dundee, #Scotland while our car was in the garage for its MOT and annual service. #Photography #Birds #Birding #BirdPhotography #BirdsOfMastodon #comics

Part of the DC Thomson building on Kingsway East showing comic strip character Dennis the Menace with his dog Gnasher, an Evening Telegraph newspaper raised above Dennis’s head. Dennis wears a stripey pink and black shirt and black shorts. Gnasher clings to his shoulder. Both have untamed black hair.

A house sparrow perched facing left on a green leafy bush with orange berries.

Close up of a female mallard perched on a dark grey rock with water behind. Her body faces left and her head is tucked in back. She has soft orange and brown plumage.

A robin facing us, head turned to the right, beak open, singing. It perches among green leaves and bright red rose hips.

Some bonus #photos from my husband’s lengthy Wednesday walk around the northern edge of #Dundee, #Scotland while our car was in the garage for its MOT and annual service. #Photography #Birds #Birding #BirdPhotography #BirdsOfMastodon #rats

A juvenile moorhen swimming left in a pond with the water reflecting the brown and grey bird and the greenery around it.

A buzzard and magpie flying near each other against a clear blue sky. Both have their wings spread wide open, and were twirling around each other for some time.

A rat glimpsed in leafy undergrowth with brambles nearby. The rat is seen side on, facing left, with its paw spread wide. Cute.

An old aqueduct stretching away from us with rough grass below and leafy green trees above. Seven arches are visible.

Some #photos from my husband’s Saturday walk to the Dighty Burn wooded river valley near our home in eastern #Dundee, #Scotland. #Monifieth #BroughtyFerry #Photography #Birds #Birding #BirdPhotography #BirdsOfMastodon #Insects

A magpie - black and white plumage - glimpsed under a wooden house eave perched on a white aerial, pecking at something, maybe an insect’s nest.

A possibly white wagtail strutting from right to left across a grassy field, head turned towards us, one foot raised.

Either a sand martin or a house martin flying from left to right across a blue sky, wings spread wide.

A common drone hoverfly perched on a yellow dandelion flower with green surroundings behind. The fly has a very black bottom and head, and yellow/brown stripey body with transparent wings.

A red admiral butterfly perched facing right with wings high on a green plant with green leaves in the background. The butterfly has a furry black body, and black, orange and white wings.

A dipper bird perched facing right on a wet triangular rock with water behind and more glistening rocks beyond that. The bird has brown and dark grey plumage, with a bright white neck and chest area.

A dipper bird perched facing right on a triangular grey rock at the bottom/mid left of the picture, with swirling patterned green water behind. The bird is mostly brown, with some dark grey areas, and a bright white neck and chest area.

A grey heron perched mid left of the picture on a broken tree looking out to the right with tall green trees behind. The bird has a grey cloak-like body, lighter chest and tummy, a white head with very dark blue stripe behind its eyes, and a long pointed yellow beak. Very dinosaur-like
