Guardian of the gate
#nature #photography #gardening #wildlife #frog

A cute little Spring Peeper frog that is small enough to sit on a penny is sitting on the top of a narrow metal black gate. This little frog was hiding under the gate latch.

Checked in on the Tiny Frogs this morning (there were 17 of them). Found these three in a photographable location before getting in to a conversation with a fellow frog appreciator.

Two tiny green frogs on a vertical reed. One is partially hidden behind another reed leaf, while the right hand one, a bit lower down is out in the open.

Side view of a tiny green frog on a reed leaf. Legs tucked under "loaf style", head up.

A sample of the ten tiny treefrogs I found this morning.

Eastern Dwarf Tree Frogs, mostly perched on guinea grass.

#frog #EasternDwarfTreeFrog #WildOz #AustralianWildlife

A chonky tiny frog huddled on a grass stalk. It has its legs tucked up under it, with only one paw out.

Two tiny frogs near each other. The left hand one is in focus and perched on a near vertical blade of grass, whereas the right hand one is further away, more horizontal but out of focus.

The frog that was out of focus in the shot of two frogs, now on its own on a wide blade of grass. It has a browner colouring than the others (they can change colours from green to brown and back)

My morning was improved one-hundred-fold by the discovery of this tiny Eastern Dwarf Treefrog on a citrus fruit.

It was no bigger than a beetle, and almost the same colour as the unripe fruit.

#AustralianWildlife #WildOz #frog #EasternDwarfTreefrog

A tiny green frog with black stripe through its eye and around the nose, huddled on a green citrus fruit.
It is almost the same colour as the fruit and is presumably hoping not to be noticed.

A crop of the previous image to better show the tiny frog.

It is green on top, with a black stripe running along its side, through the eye and down to the nose. The legs are tucked up under it, but some of the gold colouring on the legs is visible.

I've seen an AI parody of the Obama "Hope" poster going around featuring #PortlandFrog and I decided that I should make a non-AI version (left). This is also under #cc0 ( #publicdomain ) so feel free to use it however you wish.

See alt text of other image, this one doesn't have a cape and the frog is color-stepped from tan to dark green

Alt text from an earlier poster of this poster: a cartoon frog with a bit of a glare wearing a cape evocative of the US flag in a poster setting similar to the HOPE Obama posters, captioned HOP.

Rosie the Riveter poster only it’s the Portland frog and it reads: Rosie the Ribbiter says We Can Do It! She has a no kings button, and where it said War Production Department in original, war is now Peace production.

A small sample of the "too many frogs to count" I found when leaving the office this afternoon.

The usual reeds were covered in tiny frogs. Well in excess of 30.

#TinyFrog #EasternDwarfTreeFrog #AustralianWildlife #WildOz #frog

Two tiny frogs on a reed leaf. The leaf curves like a long bridge. On either side of the apex sits a frog, and they're on opposite sides of the central rib, like they're in opposing lanes.

A tiny brown frog on a broad reed leaf.

Two tiny green frogs on a reed leaf positioned such that they're following each other but with a frog's length between them.

Three tiny frogs in shades of green on the same mostly vertical reed leaf. The bottom most frog, is partly clipped in the frame and partially obscured by a nearer leaf.

Leaf Frog
(it's kinda like leap frog, only different... 🐸)

#photo #photography #yyj #Victoria #BC #NotAI #pareidolia #frog #leaf

This is a close-up image of a dark brown leaf sitting on a patio stone. The shape of the leaf and the colour make it look like a wood frog.
