Restlicht.

#photography #FotoVorschlag #lostPlaces #lostPlace

An enormous hall like a cathedral. Only the raw walls remain, the roof has partially collapsed and lets the sunlight in. Nature is taking over the site with bushes and undergrowth: a few young trees are growing inside. The ground in the foreground is littered with rubbish from oil production. It's the central workshop of an oil mine over 100 years old.

An abandoned former military base in East Germany

After 1945, Soviet forces converted the old German base into a closed military town. By the 1970s, around 75,000 soldiers and families lived here. It was abandoned in the mid-1990s.

Many relics of the Soviet occupation remain. A statue of Lenin stands near the entrance. There is also a large theatre, a decaying swimming pool and a ballroom. Murals decorate walls and corridors.

A statue of Lenin stands on a pedestal in front of an abandoned building with a clock tower, surrounded by overgrown plants and trees.

Empty, dimly lit theater auditorium with rows of red seats facing a stage with closed curtains and a high, ornate ceiling.

An empty, abandoned indoor swimming pool with arched windows, green and white tiled walls, and a high, curved ceiling. Sunlight streams through the windows.

A colorful Soviet-era mural decorates the wall of an abandoned, sunlit room with peeling paint and empty doorways.

🇮🇹 A crumbling Italian manor house, beautifully placed overlooking a stunning lake. This once-grand residence has been abandoned since the 1950s.

A once-grand synagogue, converted into a swimming pool. Now abandoned and decaying. Somewhere in Poland.

Built at the start of the 20th century, this Polish synagogue was stripped and desecrated by Nazi forces, who converted it into a swimming pool for soldiers.

It remained a community pool for 50 years post-war. Now privately owned and hollowed out by a 2023 fire, the building stands as a sad ruin.

Ich wünsche einen vorzüglichen Start ins Wochenende!
