The ultimate shadow of the savanna. 🖤🐾
An incredible encounter with a melanistic (black) serval crouching quietly in the dry grass during a night drive. Spotting a wild cat like this in the dark is special enough, but seeing a rare melanistic individual is an unforgettable highlight.

Full-body portrait of a sleek, jet-black serval sitting in low dry grass at night. Its dark coat reflects subtle highlights, and its sharp amber eyes stare attentively off-camera into the darkness.

Shooting squirrels in the forest with my DSLR in the evening. All photos were taken at high ISO (1600/3200) with my Nikon D3300.

For noise reduction, I used Darktable’s AI denoising models for both RAW denoising and profile-based denoising.

The face of functional extinction. These two magnificent animals, Najin and Fatu, are the last two Northern White Rhinos left on Earth. There are no more males. They are the reason we must fight harder.

The face of hope. A critically endangered Black rhino roams Kenya’s Nairobi National Park. Protection works, but it must be constant.

This World Rhino Day, don’t just ‘like.’ Learn, share, and support the organizations on the ground protecting the five rhino species. Action is the only antidote to extinction.
