A photo taken from near the base of a mature tree, looking in an upward direction. The crown of this tree has yellowish orange leaves during the autumn season. The trees around it still have green leaves, so the image looks a bit like a sea of colour surrounded by green. Patches of blue sky can also be seen around the top of the tree. The trunk of the tree is about one and a half feet in diameter. The photo definitely has an autumn feel to it.

Yesterday, my wife and I went for a walk through Surea Dorst. We thought we were simply going mushroom hunting—and we did find some—but somehow it turned into one of those walks where everything seems to fall into place.

Although, strangely, we didn't have the best feeling when we first entered the forest.

Then I noticed this little branch of common honeysuckle (Lonicera periclymenum), hanging quietly against the dark forest background.

The bright red berries stood out beautifully against the green leaves and deep shadows of the forest. These berries are an important food source for wildlife, although they are not suitable for us to eat.

I photographed them with my Canon 5D and Sigma 100–400mm, using the long lens to isolate the branch and let the darker surroundings become a natural backdrop.

Sometimes you go looking for mushrooms and find something else entirely.

Shooting squirrels in the forest with my DSLR in the evening. All photos were taken at high ISO (1600/3200) with my Nikon D3300.

For noise reduction, I used Darktable’s AI denoising models for both RAW denoising and profile-based denoising.

Seit über einem Monat mal wieder die Kamera ernsthaft ausgeführt.

Ganz minimalistisch: Eine Kamera, ein Objektiv (ok, es waren auch andere im Rucksack, aber die hab ich einfach da drin gelassen), ein Polfilter.
