The image depicts a serene black-and-white landscape of a pond surrounded by trees and vegetation. The sky is filled with dramatic, textured clouds, and the scene includes ducks swimming calmly on the water. A fallen tree branch extends into the pond, adding to the natural, tranquil atmosphere. The foreground features grassy and leafy details, enhancing the peaceful, rustic setting.

Fotoreproductie van een foto van een straatmuzikant in Mexico, Ed van der Elsken, 1960

#Mexico #EdvanderElsken #Mexican #fotografie #photography #EdVanDerElsken #EdvanderElsken

http://www.rijksmuseum.nl/en/collection/RP-F-2019-299-46-83

The image is a black and white photograph featuring an individual who appears to be a street musician in Mexico during the early 1960s, as suggested by the reference information provided. The person stands confidently with their left hand holding drumsticks resting on a large round drum (likely a timbale or similar percussion instrument), while their right hand is relaxed at their side.

They wear casual attire consisting of a buttoned-up shirt and trousers, complemented by a wide-brimmed hat which was typical for outdoor work during the time period. The clothing suggests practicality suitable for labor-intensive tasks such as farming or manual fieldwork. Their expression is neutral to contemplative.

The backdrop consists of blurred foliage that hints at an open-air setting with trees bearing fruit or flowers, indicative of a rural or semi-rural environment. A sandy ground can be seen partially in the lower left corner, reinforcing this context.

This image captures a moment likely from daily life and could reflect the cultural significance of street music as part of Mexican heritage during that era. The photograph is catalogued with "178," which might refer to its sequence or collection number within an archive or personal collection where it's stored.

Macro scene of tiny, young orange mushrooms (I guess genus Mycena, saw some orange ones on the same spot last year) growing on decaying wood. The wood is covered in hyphal threads. They are not growing upwards, but are laying flat on the wood. One on the top left, is already rotting, while still immature. This photo was made by stacking about 200 pictures.

Remember colorkeys? They were all the rage at some point, but fell out of fashion quickly. But this "natural colorkey" caught my eye.

The image captures a section of an urban outdoor scene. The dominant element on the left is a bright red rectangular dispenser, standing upright. It has a hinged door with a small black lock near the bottom and a rectangular opening near the top.

The background wall is a textured surface composed of small, raised horizontal lines, a common architectural feature. Superimposed on this textured wall are larger square and triangular tiles of a lighter, grayish concrete material. Some of these tiles, particularly those on the upper left and upper right, bear faint graffiti marks in a gray tone. The arrangement of the tiles creates a geometric pattern, with squares and triangles interspersing.

It's A Car Park

(Details In The #AltText) (Mispelt by Human)

(Probably A Repeat)

This is a colour abstract photo in landscape format of the front of a small multi-story city car park (I believe automated) with a striped chequered patten alternating red and yellow. Singapore (2012).

The entire photo is filled with the front of this car park. Stretching across the front are alternating fabric stripes made up of yellow and red horizontal rectangular rectangles. Each one is about two metres long and one metre high. Above each multi-coloured (bi-coloured) stripe is a clear strip where the structure of the car park is visible. The interior is made up from multiple vertical grey girders, plus the odd diagonal crossbeam for added strength. Just visible are the car sized platforms that the cars rest on, that appear to have two parallel grooves for the tyre to rest on with a slightly elevated section in the centre. Also visible is the occasional illuminated neon light. Above the clear strip is a further multi-coloured stripe and so the pattern repeats with four coloured stripes and three clear strips contained in the photo - But no cars ? (The photo was taken early in the morning, just after sunrise).
