A kookaburra is perched on grass, holding a raw sausage in its beak. Surrounding it are green leaves and fallen brown foliage.
A kookaburra at my house whilst we were preparing a barbecue. We had raw sausages ready to cook. (We should know not to leave any meat unattended as Kookaburras have a keen eye and smell).
They also frequent nature reserves and wildlife parks when they smell a barbecue, and will often swoop down to steal raw or cooked sausages or any meat from a barbecue or even from the table where people are sitting! How dare they!
Most Aussies are aware of this and many have had some of their meat taken by Kookaburras, but we all love them, and their great laugh that they make.

The photo looks abstract. Blue, orange, and reddish pink flames flow vertically through the frame against a black background. I think there is an ethereal quality to the photo.

2025/04 : #Wolken

#smurf #winter #poetry

GE:
Gefangen in einer Welt aus Grau,
Sehne ich mich nach Wolken, weich, weiß und blau…

NL:
Gevangen in een wereld van grijs en grauw,
Verlang ik naar wolken, zacht, wit en blauw…

EN:
Caught in a world of gray and dreary hue,
I long for clouds, so soft and bright and blue…

A blue toy Smurf figurine wearing a backpack with red and yellow wings attached to its arms. He appears to be flying through the air...

In reality, it stands on a blue A3 piece of cardboard with some white cotton fluff in the background.

Something so hypnotizing about staring at a flame. It was Father's Day and we were eating outside and watching the flame from the table torch.

I wanted to get a picture of a puffin with the mountains in the background instead of the sea. Without a wide-angle lens, this was the best I could pull off lol. I'm still kind of proud of it, though.

A visit to Wangum Falls Bridge, located in Hawley. The bridge overlooks the Wangum Falls. The site of a Hollywood movie, it is a remote location enclosed by dense clusters of trees. The sun was behind us on this early summer morning and you can see the sunbeams coming through the branches. It was actually a bit spooky standing there. I could see a murder mystery taking place here.

January sunset at Twin Lakes - If it hadn't been so cloudy that evening, perhaps I would have seen the conjunction of planets I was looking for. But the ice on the lake, shimmering in the setting sun, made up for it. Abstracted during processing wth a slight blue toning.
