We’re so sorry to hear that Guppe Groups have shut down.

@FediTips/115164286964463451

Guppe was a really big influence on us when we first joined the Fediverse and served communities across the Fediverse.

Fortunately, conversations and communities can continue! Here are 3 ways how:

1/3 Keep the conversation going by hopping over to Newsmast Channels:

Bookstodon 👉 Follow @books & use #books

Histodons 👉 Follow @history & use #history

Academic Chatter 👉 Follow @academia & use #academia

Photography 👉 Follow @photography & use #photography

The dogs got really interested in a tree in the woods that had a split in it, so I went to investigate and found these mice all lined up in there. There must have been a dozen in all.

Those social media accounts that steal other people's photos of cute animals to post every day... they are parasites.

They are not "fun". They are manipulating you and stealing other people's hard work. Ever wondered how the photographer who took the original photo feels about that kind of social media account?

Please ask yourself why they are doing this, why they are trying to build an audience using stolen photos? And would the Fediverse be better off if you blocked them instead of boosting them?

Chicago Water Tower Christmas

I've titled this photograph 'City of Chicago Old Water Tower Christmas' because it evokes a sense of resilience and devotion. The historic water tower, built in 1869, stands as a testament to the city's remarkable recovery from the devastating Great Chicago Fire of 1871. This symbol of old Chicago serves as a poignant reminder of the power of faith and perseverance.

As I gaze upon the Christmas tree in the public square, I'm struck by its significance. This evergreen symbol, adorned with a star or angel, represents the eternal and vibrant spirit of life. In contrast to the barren trees of winter, the Christmas tree embodies hope and renewal, reminding us that our existence is rooted in the promise of everlasting life.

The intersection of these symbols fills me with joy and a deep sense of connection to the scriptures. Jesus' words in Matthew 11:28-30 come to mind: 'Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.' His promise of rest and peace is a beacon of light in a world often consumed by chaos and uncertainty.

Silhouetted Winter Trees at Dusk – Black and White

Sometimes there is more color from the black-and-white than the color photograph. For example, these silhouetted trees stand against a vibrant sunset. The sky glows with shades of orange and purple, creating a serene evening scene. However, when you remove the color, you actually see the personality of the trees and the base of the story about this photograph.
