Weekend (Pastoral Landscape, Portrait Orientation)

2026/21 #PortraitImNatürlichenLicht #52WochenFotoChallenge

#SheepOfMastodon #Photography #Defaidodon

A peaceful rural scene featuring sheep resting and standing in a grassy pasture under a dramatic, cloudy sky.

In the foreground, a heavily fleeced sheep with small, curved horns is resting comfortably on the green grass. It is positioned in the lower-left to center-left area, looking directly forward toward the camera with a calm expression.

A larger, standing sheep with a very long, shaggy, dark grey-to-black fleece is positioned further back on the right side of the frame. It is turned slightly to the left, appearing to look across the field.

The sheep are on a vast, green meadow with patchier, dry grass mixed in. In the far background, a dense line of lush green trees forms a soft barrier between the field and the horizon.

Monument to the Unknown Bureaucrat

Magnús Tómasson (1994), Reykjavik

#FotoVorschlag - Öffentliche Kunst // Public art
#monochrome #monochromemonday #fotomontag #blackandwhite #photography

Black and white photograph of a sculpture depicting a worker in a suit, with shoes and a suitcase in his right hand, his left hand in his trouser pocket. A huge block of Icelandic volcanic basalt replaces the upper half of his body and his head, the same block from which the lower half was carved. The worker "walks" on cobblestones, with a low stone wall behind him and the small artificial lake of Reykjavik visible beyond.

Another small flower from the road trip I took with my dad. iNat says it is in the genus Nama, commonly called fiddleleafs or sand bells.

Close-up photography with manual focus allows for artistic use of de-focusing, and a combination of telephoto and wide aperture can lead to some cool bokeh effects. With golden hour light coming though pine needles, that resulted in some interesting textures and compositions emerging.

2025/09/06, with XF80mmF2.8 lens.
