St Francis Bay. Never seen so many snakes in one place as I did on that farm. This is a juvenile Skaarpsteker . Name means Sheep Striker , got that name as farmers years ago believed the these small snakes killed sheep! Back fanged and a mild venom which has NO effect on humans.

An Oriental Whipsnake (Ahaetulla prasina) caught a Sun Skink (Eutropis multifasciata). The snake's skin stretches to reveal an interesting pattern as the prey is swallowed. Spotted at Dairy Farm Nature Park, Singapore on 27 Sept 2026.

A Mangrove Viper (Trimeresurus purpureomaculatus) spotted at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, Singapore on 22 Nov 2025. Venomous and usually hangs out on branches and, occasionally, railings, so best to be cautious.
