#DelightfulCommons curated lists are inspired by #awesome lists on #Github and I realized they still represent a sterile lab with glaring TL lights and metal glinting everywhere.
In a quest to bring more of the missing #social connecting layers to bridge the gap between tech vs. #people and #humanity, I decided to give things a friendlier makeover.
When articles start talking about "GenZ and Alpha" this and that, you know your era has ended. 😭

Elon Musk’s net worth fluctuates around $220 billion — more than the GDP of over 130 countries. But what if that wealth did more than fund rockets and cars? Here are 10 ways a person of his wealth could change the world and cement a lasting legacy. 🧵

A game about trusting others, with a valuable lesson we should all learn.
Give it a playthrough! You'll learn something we all should learn. (And it's fun/interesting, so if you e.g. believe you already know what it is going to teach, I think it is still worth your time to try.)
At the EPS Council in Vilnius, Mairi Sakellariadou handed over the baton to her successor as President of the European Physical Society.
🙏 Thank you Mairi Sakellariadou for your services to the EPS!
👏 Congratulations Jose Maria De Teresa, we wish you a successful term!
the systemic and fatal mistake of modern day monopoly capitalism = modern day #feudalism not #education or #intelligence earns most #money, no whoever owns #assets everyone else is dependant on = #exploitation = will ultimately lead to less #innovation + destruction of #mankind,, #rich vs #poor #inequality growing rapidly = #collapse of #society thank you
= no matter how #smart #people or #government are or act: will lose game to whoever prints #money and buys + owns the #assets (#bank, #centralbank)
the #solution: every Dollar or Euro or Pesos invested in your own #INDEPENDENCE from the #financesystem is well invested. #water, #food, #energy, DO IT NOW!

🗨️ 👩🏽💻 The #majority decision does not always embody what is right; that's why #children and the needy in a #society must ALWAYS be protected - that must be the #law for all of #humanity!
Ergo: There are no exceptions for rogue states!
Anyone who kills children and destroys world cultural heritage is the enemy of our species—they deserve no waste of time, resources, or thought!
No mercy for Israel!
Pass judgement!

THIS IS NOT PROGRESS.
I THOUGHT THE FUTURE WOULD BE KINDER 💎
I am old now.
I have lived through seven decades and remember when there was a fairly ordinary expectation that the next generation might have a better life than we did.
Not a perfect life. JUST A DECENT LIFE. A HOME you can afford. FOOD without anxiety at the checkout. ELECTRICITY without wondering: Should I turn on the heat?
WORK that paid enough to live. Some security if one becomes sick, disabled, unemployed, or, God forbid, old. And perhaps enough left over to actually ENJOY BEING ALIVE.
I look at the world now, and I am deeply disappointed. Not because young people are doing anything wrong. Quite the opposite. I think we have handed them an UNNECESSARILY DIFFICULT WORLD.
Housing has become an investment vehicle before it is a home. Essential services have become opportunities for vast profits. People work and still struggle to pay their rent. PEOPLE POSTPONE HAVING A CHILD BECAUSE THEY CAN'T AFFORD ONE.
People in wealthy countries worry about FOOD, POWER BILLS, and whether they WILL EVER OWN A PLACE OF THEIR OWN. And meanwhile, astonishing amounts of wealth accumulate in astonishingly few hands.
I am old enough to know that every generation thinks the world is going to hell. So I try not to indulge in that thinking. There is still enormous KINDNESS, CREATIVITY, HUMOUR, AND DECENCY EVERYWHERE I LOOK.
But economically and socially?
WE SHOULD HAVE DONE BETTER THAN THIS.
A civilisation should not become richer while ORDINARY PEOPLE become more frightened about meeting their ORDINARY NEEDS.
That is not progress.
I don’t expect paradise. I do expect a society wealthy enough to make an ordinary human life possible without keeping millions of people in a permanent state of fear about money.
At seventy, that is one of my greatest disappointments.
We had the resources. We had the knowledge to build a decent life for everyone.
We still do.
What seems to be missing is the decision that ordinary human lives matter more than endlessly increasing somebody else's pile of money.
What Makes X-Men so Gay? - by #MattBaume on #YouTube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhtkT0IeavA
> From the earliest issues, the X-men #comics used subtle subtext to comment on the way #society treats #outcasts. But when it came time to make a #movie in the early 2000s, filmmakers set a seemingly impossible goal — to make a direct comparison to gay rights, to tell a story about what happens when the #government targets #minorities, and to ask the question: In the face of #bigotry, is it better to respond with compromise, like Professor X? Or with violence, like Magneto? This is the story of the original X-Men films, the twenty-year struggle to make them, and why they are so very gay.
