In Search of Space is the second studio album from Hawkwind, released in 1971.[2] It reached #18 on the UK album charts.

Jefferson Airplane was an American rock band from San Francisco, a pioneer of the LSD-influenced psychedelic rock movement.
Successive incarnations of the band have performed under different names, reflecting changing times and performer lineups, known as Jefferson Starship, and later simply Starship before becoming Jefferson Starship The Next Generation in 1991.
Jefferson Airplane was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
The term "Jefferson airplane" is also slang for a used paper match split open to hold a marijuana joint that has been smoked too short to hold without burning the hands, an improvised roach clip.[citation needed] An urban legend claims this was the origin for the band's name, but according to band member Jorma Kaukonen, the name was invented by his friend Steve Talbot as a parody of blues names such as 'Blind Lemon' Jefferson

For many aficionados of the creative rock music that surfaced in the heady days of the late 60's / early 70's, the bands who surfaced from the English provincial city of Canterbury produced some of the most consistently interesting music of that period. Of all the groups to emerge from the so-called "Canterbury Scene" (the existence of which many of its main protagonists deny), none were quite so original and so enduring as Caravan.

In The Land of Grey & Pink was released to an unsuspecting world in 1971, appearing in Europe and Japan on Decca's progressive rock label Deram and in the USA on London Records The album packaging was the most lavish to grace a Caravan release to date, being the inaugural release in Deram's "deluxe" series. It featured a striking Tolkien-esque illustration and opened in a gatefold to reveal a glorious picture silhouette of the band larking around, marching single file in a field. Overall both the music within and the album sleeve created a stunning impression.

A unique fusion of folk, jazz and rock; the album came to be regarded as one of Caravan's finest hours. Taking up a whole side of vinyl and chosen to close the album, the Nine Feet Underground suite provided a worthy successor to For Richard, proving to be one of the most popular tracks on the album and a concert favourite. It is often regarded as the seminal Caravan album and is in MOJO's bible top 500 albums of all time. This new Eclectic definitive version is remastered and comes housed in digipak format.

Days of Future Passed is the second album and first concept album by The Moody Blues, released in 1967. It was also their first album to feature Justin Hayward and John Lodge, who would play a very strong role in directing the band's sound in the decades to come. Utilising the London Festival Orchestra primarily for epic instrumental interludes between songs, Days of Future Passed moved the Birmingham band away from its early R&B roots (as displayed on its debut album with soon-departed future Wings member Denny Laine) into uncharted rock territory, making them the early pioneers of both classical and progressive rock.

前作のMMに続いて今回はSSだ。サービス・ステーションと割り切っていいのかもしれないけれど、ナチス・ドイツに由来するのかもしれない。曲の中にドイツ車も出てくるし。それか、もしかしたらナチス・ドイツに由来したパンク・バンドに由来するのかな。タイトルよりもイニシャルのほうが気になる。MからSになったというのはやはりマゾヒスト林檎にはサディスト入っててそれもありってことかもしれない。ところでぼくのこのレビューはフィオナ・アップル以来だけど、編集部はいちおう語呂合わせ狙っているのかなあ。この次がリンゴ・スターかシーナ・イーストンだったら許してあげるけど。シーナ&ロケッツじゃあいかにもねえ。「弁解ドビュッシー」の中の“どうせあたしの人生 語呂合わせなんだもん”という一節は、彼女にしてはやけにうるわしい開き直りだ。こういうことを言ってみせたりするから“おれの人生だって、おやじギャグさ”みたいに同調するギャグおやじがパクっとやられちゃうんだろうなあ、と他人事のように論評しておくことにする。それにしても彼女の言葉の仕掛けはものすごくマニエリスティックで、マザーグースばり、いやそこまで高尚でなくてもジェイムズ・ジョイスばりとぐらい言ってしまってもいいだろう。和風にみれば連歌だな。この究極の13曲の一人連歌は“椎名連歌”と、べつに重役級のおやじギャグとばすわけじゃないが、とりあえず命名しておこう。彼女が好きなピーター・グリーナウェイばりのシンメトリーへの偏執、数に対する偏執は、鋳型嗜好、ギブス・マニア、コルセット主義の椎名マゾヒスト連歌をますます金縛りの極致へと追い込んでいく。そうした語呂合わせの容器が固まっていけばいくほど、辻褄合わせの社会との断絶がはっきりとみえてくる快感。開き直り方を学ぶなんてたいそうなもんでもないが、「人生は辻褄合わせなんかじゃない」と思わせてくれるだけで椎名林檎の歌は人をしたたかにさせる。 (野中映) --- 2000年04月号

A wild, freewheeling, and ultimately successful attempt to merge psychedelia with jazz-rock, Soft Machine's debut ranges between lovingly performed oblique pop songs and deranged ensemble playing from drummer/vocalist Robert Wyatt and organist Mike Ratledge. Released in 1970, Abraxas, Santana's second album, sees the band expanding its already wildly diverse Latin rock sound by adding deeper elements of blues and jazz to the sizzling mix. We're Only in It for the Money is the third album by American rock band the Mothers of Invention, released on March 4, 1968, by Verve Records. As with the band's first two LP's, it is a concept album, written and composed by bandleader and guitarist Frank Zappa. The album satirizes left- and right-wing politics, the 1960s counterculture, the corporatization of rock music and youth culture, particularly the hippie subculture. It was conceived as part of a project called No Commercial Potential, which produced three other albums: Lumpy Gravy, Cruising with Ruben & the Jets, and Uncle Meat.

The DVD soundtrack features a new 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo mixes by Eddie Kramer, Jimi's original engineer. The CD will feature the brand new, stereo mix heard here for the first time.
