在 VSC3 合成器极富规律的伴奏下，伴随着重复回声的组合引出了 "Welcome To The Machine" 开头的那部分音节，由此开始了一个针对当时音乐圈中广泛存在的“对金钱的追逐超过了对音乐制作创新的追求”现象的辛辣的讽刺，而将歌手 Roy Harper 引入并演唱 "Have A Cigar" 则似乎是 Waters 的耻辱，但当时在录制此曲的时候，本应担任主唱的 Waters 嗓子出了问题而无法正常演唱，刚巧他的朋友 Roy Harper 也同期在同一录音室录制别的作品，于是 Waters 便请他的朋友演唱了这首对唱片录音工业辛辣讽刺的歌曲，不过后来 Waters 对这个决定也无不抱怨说“not because he did it badly...it just isn't us anymore”。歌曲里面有一句歌词“Which one's Pink?”其实来自于一位对他们一无所知的美国唱片公司董事询问乐队时愚蠢的提问，后来在演唱会上，Waters 将这句话印到自己的T恤上。
唱片的标题曲 WISH YOU WERE HERE 同样也是针对 Syd Barrett，但也是 Roger Waters 对于徘徊在乐队成功的四周围的贪婪所进行的斗争中所感受到的紧张感，而根植于贯穿 Wish You Were Here 专辑中所体现出来的那种觉醒的主题不断的滋生发展并最终在后来的 The Wall 中萌发壮大。古典/爵士小提琴手 Stephane Grapelli 参加了该曲的录制，也就是全曲结束时那几个小节的风声的合成音响效果的录音。而歌曲的管弦乐片段其实是截取于 Tchaikovsky 的第四交响曲的录音。本曲以后成为乐队巡回演唱会上的保留曲目，即使是 Waters 离开乐队后，无论乐团还是他依旧喜欢在各自的演出中演唱它。
WISH YOU WERE HERE 专辑于75年9月27日进入美国排行榜并名列12位，并于10月4日升至榜首。而在英国，发行后第一周便荣登榜首，不过这要感谢提前预售的25万张唱片的功劳。Wish 专辑也是在他们离开了与之合作多年的 Capitol 唱片公司，并自组 Pink Floyd Music 公司后制作的第一部作品，另外他们将其作品改委由 Columbia 唱片公司发行而不是老东家EMI公司了。或许是因为上一张作品反映太好，它多少显得这张专辑有些失色，乐评家的评论甚至也仅以“了无长进”一笔带过。现在回过头来看这张唱片，虽然具有一定程度的商业化倾向的表现，但在音乐创作的本质上，它仍然够资格称得上是一张质量均佳的好作品。

Forever Changes is the third album by American rock band Love, released by Elektra Records in November 1967. In 2003, Rolling Stone magazine ranked Forever Changes 40th in its list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.The album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2008. It was entered into the National Recording Registry in May 2012.

Zappa produced almost all of the more than 60 albums he released with the band The Mothers of Invention and as a solo artist.

Waiting for the Sun is the third studio album by the American rock band The Doors. It was released in 1968 and became the band's first and only number one album and spawned their second US number one single, "Hello, I Love You". It also became the band's first hit album in the UK, where it peaked at #16 in the chart. With the exception of two songs, the material for this album was written after the band's initial songs from the formation of the group had been recorded for their debut album and second album, Strange Days. The highlight of this album was supposed to be the lengthy theatrical piece "Celebration of the Lizard", but in the end only the "Not to Touch the Earth" section was used. The song "Waiting for the Sun" would not appear on an album until Morrison Hotel.

Morrison Hotel (sometimes referred to as Hard Rock Cafe from the title of the first side of the LP, whose second side is titled Morrison Hotel) is The Doors' fifth album. It was released in 1970. After their experimental work The Soft Parade was not as well received as anticipated, the group went back to basics and back to their roots. On this album, there is a slight steer toward blues, which would be fully explored by the band on their next album, L.A. Woman. The strategy worked; even though no major hit singles were drawn from the album, Morrison Hotel reestablished The Doors as favorites of the critics, peaking at #4 on the US album chart, and when they followed with L.A. Woman the next year, they were rewarded with two more US Top 20 hits. The album also became the band's highest charting studio album in the UK, where it peaked at #12.

Mojave 3在《Ask Me Tomorrow》里，旋律，歌词，唱腔，一切都把Indie-pop,Dream－pop演绎得清新，简单又动人。有人说Mojave 3像Beatles。我想，英国的吉他乐队很难说有谁没继承Beatles的遗产，但是对于Mojave 3，更重要的却是重新解读伟大的传统：由Bob Dylan，Don Mclean重申的民谣传统，由川端康成发挥到极至的唯美叙事传统。

Pet Sounds is the eleventh studio album by the American rock band the Beach Boys, released on May 16, 1966, by Capitol Records. It was produced, arranged, and primarily composed by Brian Wilson with guest lyricist Tony Asher. Recorded largely between January and April 1966, it furthered the orchestral sound introduced in The Beach Boys Today! (1965). Initially promoted as "the most progressive pop album ever", Pet Sounds is recognized for its ambitious production, sophisticated harmonic structures, and coming of age themes. It is widely regarded as among the greatest and most influential albums in music history.

Wilson viewed Pet Sounds as a solo album and attributed its inspiration partly to marijuana use and an LSD–rooted spiritual awakening. Galvanized by the work of his rivals, he aimed to create "the greatest rock album ever made", surpassing the Beatles' Rubber Soul and extending Phil Spector's Wall of Sound innovations. His orchestrations blended pop, jazz, exotica, classical, and avant-garde elements, combining rock instrumentation with layered vocal harmonies, found sounds, and instruments not normally associated with rock, such as French horn, flutes, Electro-Theremin, bass harmonica, bicycle bells, and string ensembles. Featuring the most complex and challenging instrumental and vocal parts of any Beach Boys album, it was their first in which studio musicians, such as the Wrecking Crew, largely replaced the band on their instruments, and the first time any group had departed from their usual small-ensemble pop/rock band format to create a full-length album that could not be replicated live.

Among My Swan is the third album by the band Mazzy Star. Although Among My Swan did not contain any US Billboard Hot 100 hits like its predecessor, So Tonight That I Might See, this album did garner the band its highest-ranking single on the UK Singles Chart, when "Flowers In December" reached #40 in November 1996. The album's second single, "I've Been Let Down", did not chart in either the United States or the UK.
Among My Swan relied less on the echo effect that was nearly ubiquitous in all tracks on the previous two albums. Hope Sandoval's voice is paired with simple acoustic instrumentation that marks most of the tracks. The guitar and harmonica accompaniment on "I've Been Let Down" is a prime example of this. These tracks are not markedly different in sound or feel from the preceding two albums.
Among My Swan is widely considered to be Mazzy Star's final album; although the band has not officially broken up, they have released no new material since the release of "I've Been Let Down" as a single in 1996, and lead singer Hope Sandoval has gone on to form Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions, which released an album in 2001.
