Coming October 7th, Day Breaks is Norah's sixth solo album and a kindred spirit to her breakout debut Come Away With Me. It finds her returning to the piano and her roots.The album features Blue Note luminaries including saxophonist Wayne Shorter, organist Dr. Lonnie Smith, and drummer Brian Blade on a 12-song set that presents 9 new originals alongside covers of songs by Horace Silver, Duke Ellington and Neil Young.

Esperanza Spalding presents her latest project Emily's D+Evolution a rekindling of her childhood interest in theater, poetry and movement, which delves into a broader concept of performance. Taking a new approach to her on-stage persona, the remarkable Spalding taps into new creative energy, delivering musical vignettes inspired during a "sleepless night of full moon inspiration." As she puts it, "Emily is my middle name, and I'm using this fresh persona as my inner navigator. This project is about going back and reclaiming un-cultivated curiosity, and using it as a compass to move forward and expand. My hope for this group is to create a world around each song, there are a lot of juicy themes and stories in the music. We will be staging the songs as much as we play them, using characters, video, and the movement of our bodies."

Lemonade is the sixth studio album by American singer and songwriter Beyoncé. It was released on April 23, 2016, through Parkwood Entertainment. The album was accompanied by the release of a 60-minute short film of the same name, which premiered on HBO. It features co-production from a wide range of artists, and includes guest vocals from artists including James Blake, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, and Jack White. To further promote the album, Beyoncé will embark on The Formation World Tour in April 2016.

Angel Olsen is an American singer-songwriter and musician from St. Louis, Missouri who lives in Asheville, North Carolina. To date, Olsen has released five studio albums: Half Way Home, Burn Your Fire for No Witness, My Woman, All Mirrors and Whole New Mess.

Skeleton Tree began its journey in late 2014 at Retreat Studios, Brighton, with further sessions at La Frette Studios, France in autumn 2015. The album was mixed at AIR Studios, London in early 2016. The songs from the album are featured in the film One More Time With Feeling, directed by Andrew Dominik (Chopper, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Killing Them Softly). The film was comissioned by Nick Cave and is to be the only public statement to accompany the albums’ release. Given event's in his personal life prior to the release of the album, it's understandable that this album is sombre affair. Although accompanied by a film, it is an album in its own right, rather than a soundtrack. Having said that, the orchestration which forms the backdrop to Nick's rich, half spoken - half sung narratives, has a similar cinematic feel to the haunting, atmospheric film scores that Nick and Bad Seed Warren Ellis excel at. It’s probably not going to be your choice of listening prior to a night out on the town, but if it’s darkness you’re after, no one does that better than Nick. A beautiful, moving album.

A Seat At The Table, is the new album from Solange Knowles. The album will be available digitally on September 30th, released on CD November 18th, and on vinyl LP December 9th. Solange describes A Seat At The Table as "a project on identity, empowerment, independence, grief and healing." A Seat At The Table was written by Solange, and features a host of guest artists including Q-Tip, Kelly Rowland, The Dream, BJ The Chicago Kid, Kelela, Tweet, Moses Sumney, Sampha, Sean Nicholas Savage, Nia Andrews, Devonte Hynes of Houston Texas and Lu of Carolina.

Anti is the eighth studio album by Barbadian recording artist Rihanna, first released on January 27, 2016 via streaming service Tidal, by Westbury Road Entertainment and Roc Nation Records. Since Rihanna's career began in 2005 she released or re-released an album annually, however in 2013 Rihanna did not release any new material opting to take more time on Anti's recording process. In late-2013 Rihanna began work on Anti but avoided discussing the album or its release leading to a considerable amount of confusion among music journalists and fans. The following year Rihanna left Def Jam, and would be releasing Anti through Roc Nation and her own record label Westbury Road. The record was made available for free download since its release. The album will be promoted with the upcoming Anti World Tour, scheduled to begin in February 2016. The album's lead single "Work" was released on January 27, 2016.

A Moon Shaped Pool is the ninth studio album by the English rock band Radiohead, produced by Nigel Godrich. It was released as a download on 8 May 2016. CD and LP editions will be released on 17 June 2016, followed by a "special edition" in September, containing two additional songs. Soon after its release the album was played in its entirety on BBC Radio 6 Music, presented by Tom Robinson.

On February 21, 2013, Ocean confirmed that he had started work on his second studio album, which he confirmed would be another concept album. He revealed that he was working with Tyler, The Creator, Pharrell Williams, and Danger Mouse on the record.He later stated that he was being influenced by The Beach Boys and The Beatles. He stated he was interested in collaborating with Tame Impala and King Krule and that he would record part of the album in Bora Bora. In April 2014, Ocean stated that his second album was nearly finished. In June 2014, Billboard reported that the singer was working with a string of artists such as Happy Perez (whom he worked with on nostalgia, ULTRA), Charlie Gambetta and Kevin Ristro, while producers Hit-Boy, Rodney Jerkins and Danger Mouse were also said to be on board.[5][6] On November 29, 2014, Ocean released a snippet of a new song supposedly from his upcoming follow-up to channel ORANGE called "Memrise" on his official Tumblr page. The Guardian described the song as: "a song which affirms that despite reportedly changing labels and management, he has maintained both his experimentation and sense of melancholy in the intervening years". On April 6, 2015, Ocean announced that his follow-up to channel ORANGE would be released in July, as well as a publication, although no further details were released. The album was ultimately not released in July, with no explanation given for its delay. The publication is rumored to be called Boys Don't Cry, and the album is slated to feature the aforementioned "Memrise". On July 2, 2016, he hinted at a possible second album with an image on his website pointing to a July release date. The image shows a library card labeled Boys Don't Cry with numerous stamps, implying various due dates. The dates begin with July 2, 2015 and conclude with July 2016 and November 13, 2016. Frank's brother, Ryan Breaux, further suggested this release with an Instagram caption of the same library card photo reading "BOYS DON'T CRY #JULY2016".On August 1, 2016, a live video hosted by Apple Music showing an empty hall was launched on the website boysdontcry.co. The website also featured a new "boysdontcry" graphic. The video marked the first update on the website since a "date due" post from July. On August 1, 2016, a video appeared that showed Frank Ocean woodworking and sporadically playing instrumentals on loop. That same day, many news outlets reported that August 5, 2016, could be the release date for Boys Don't Cry. The video was revealed to be promotion for Endless, a 45-minute long visual album that began streaming on Apple Music on August 19, 2016.[16] The following day, Frank posted a new picture on his website advertising four pop-up stores in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and London. Later in the day, the album went up on iTunes.
