ニュー・オーダー、10年振りのオリジナル・アルバム発売! MUTEレーベル移籍第1弾となる本作は、2005年に発売された『ウェイティング・フォー・ザ・サイレンズ・コール』以来、10年振り9枚目のオリジナル・アルバム。これまでの作品ではエレクトロ・サウンド、もしくはギター・サウンドどちらかに比重を置いていたが、本作ではその両方のサウンドがバランスを保ち、今までの作品の中で最も幅広い音楽性を持った作品となった。また『ゲット・レディー』(2001 年)以来となるジリアン・ギルバートがバンドに復帰を果たした。プロデュースは2曲を除く全てをニュー・オーダーが行い、トム・ローランズが「Singularity」と「Unlearn This Hatred」の2曲をプロデュースしている。またトム・ローランズは「Tutti Frutti」でバンドと共作をし、スチュアート・プライスは「Superheated」にアディショナル・プロダクションとして参加している。アートワークを手がけたのは、伝説のピーター・サヴィル。国内盤。 ボーナストラック収録

Waiting for the Sirens' Call is the eighth studio album by the English rock band New Order. The album was released on 28 March 2005 in the United Kingdom and 25 April 2005 in the United States, and was preceded by the single "Krafty" in February. Two additional singles from the album were released: "Jetstream", which features vocals by Ana Matronic from Scissor Sisters, and the title track of the album. The album was released at a time when the band were experiencing unprecedented recognition in the media. Waiting for the Sirens' Call marks Phil Cunningham's recording and co-writing debut with New Order; although he had been playing live with the band since the Get Ready tour of 2001–2002. It is the first New Order album recorded without Gillian Gilbert who left the band in 2001 to look after her family. The album was recorded at Real World studios in 2003–2004, and production costs totalled £700,000. During the sessions the band also recorded seven songs intended for their next album, which was never completed as planned. These songs were shelved when Peter Hook quit the group in 2007. One song, "Hellbent", was eventually released in 2011 and all seven (plus a remix of "I Told You So") were released as the album Lost Sirens in 2013. This album was the first and only New Order album to have a title track. This matches their current trend of now using song titles which are in the song lyrics, a practice New Order rarely did before their 2001 album Get Ready. The Japanese release includes several alternate versions of "Krafty" as bonus tracks, including one sung in Japanese. This was the first time that lead singer Bernard Sumner performed in a language other than English on record. The lyrics were translated by Masafumi Gotō. The USA release of this album includes one extra track, a remix of "Guilt Is a Useless Emotion".

Here, the band turned to Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio to work his production magic, taking The Ohsees down a more refined, pop-sensible route. It's as if they threw a sheet of fresh, pathological playfulness over a dusty loft mattress, creating by far the best goo-rock/bedroom folk our world has ever heard. It's hard to imagine that something so innocent could spawn from the mind of America's underground trash-rock king, John Dwyer. After the demise of his legendary garage threesome The Coachwhips late last year, Dwyer decided to center The Ohsees as his numero uno. Along with Dwyer's distant vocals and guitar, The Ohsees features Patrick Mullins (Burmese) on percussion and newcomer Brigid Dawson, a UK native who adds loads of soft and delightful backing vocals to the band's signature hushed `n' mushed sound.

SONGHOY BLUES is a band whose experiences in Mali have opened their eyes to universal problems plaguing people everywhere. Using the pain and lessons learned from having to leave their hometowns in northern Mali, the band realizes that human rights is a concept that extends far beyond what they have seen with their own eyes and far beyond just the borders of Mali. In order for the band to see their homes restored, they understand the fight must be fought on all fronts, for everybody across the spectrum. They are no longer refugees or exiles or four people with instruments—they are SONGHOY BLUES, a musical voice for empowerment and equality. Working with Matt Sweeney, who encouraged the band to make the album they want to make, OPTIMISME confronts our world today. On “BADALA” and “GABI,” SONGHOY BLUES seeks the empowerment of women, asking for centuries-old misogynistic practices to be done away with. With “WORRY,” the band advises both the young and the old that positive vibes and persistence are the best tools to fight our struggles. Lyrically and sonically, Resistance is a huge leap forward for Songhoy Blues, a musical snapshot of a band at the top of their game.
