On our way home from #FOSDEM. Met so many amazing people form the #fediverse community. Thanks to everyone for the discussions on events federation and more. @linos @Bonfire @mayel @ivan @liaizon @lesion @michael the folks from Mobilizion and anyone I forgot.

Hi, I am Søren (the "ø" is pronounced like the "ea" in "Earth"), a guy from Denmark. I am trying out the #fediverse to see what it is all about and support it with a bit of content.

I post about #Lego and #EuropeanAlternatives (and #DanmarkSkifter in Danish), but as a person who goes through hobbies like people go through.. stuff they change often.. that is bound to change down the road. In tha last year I have been around sewing, macramé, 3d printing, and a few others.

Hello #fediverse! Thanks to my new DFF grant, I'm now looking to hire a PhD student to join me at AAU in Aalborg 🇩🇰 to work on "usable decentralization", i.e. on making distributed and federated cloud services accessible to the everyday user. For more details, see link below, and please don't hesitate to DM me with questions!

We just held another Alternative Social Media Reading Group meeting, this time discussing Hwang et al's fantastic paper, "Governing Together: Toward Infrastructure for Community-Run Social Media."

Looking forward to adding this to our library!

FediSuite - Your Fediverse Management Platform

Version 1.6.2 released!

Changes

• The list of posts written in FediSuite is now split and switchable via button tabs between: Scheduled Posts, Published Posts, and Failed Posts. Each of these lists can be filtered.
• Collapsing the sidebar previously hid the submenu under "Admin Area." This has been fixed.

Version 1.6.1 already brought a complete redesign of FediSuite.

If you like FediSuite and think this project deserves a bit of support, feel free to show it with toots and boosts across the Fediverse! Of course, there's also the option of financial support. Just use the yellow buttons in the FediSuite app or on the FediSuite website! Thank you very much!

RE: https://social.wake.st/@liaizon/115952183460649167

I could use a little help getting the word out about this little #fediverse themed meetup at @offline I am organizing TOMORROW with @hongminhee! I know there are many fedi (probably dev oriented) people in #Berlin who didn't make it all the way to brussels this last week and could use a little dose of stimuli, so if you know anyone who you think would enjoy please pass on the word or tag them here.

If you believe in the #Fediverse :

- post here
- bring your friends and family here
- tell companies, governments and creators to be here
- pay for your instance
- pay for your software

Do one thing every day. The Fediverse is worth fighting for.

We played there with a former band, nice venue, very important for that area. Follow and support them!

#smithereen is on hacker news and could use some momentum from the #fediverse to get to the front page if you have an account over there

We have the pleasure of having @hongminhee who will give a presentation about @fedify "an opinionated #ActivityPub framework for TypeScript that handles the protocol plumbing"

Since @everton137 has been awarding Members of the European Parliament who successfully persuade their colleagues to leave X, this idea is being expanded.

Now, this award goes to anyone who sends great emails or takes initiatives that help convince MPs from any European Parliament to leave X. Please, register it somewhere online.

Bonus points if you help them switch to the #Fediverse 😉

Full rules coming soon on the Leave X website.

(Books and hat not included.)

My highlight of Fosdem26 was our panel ‘The Fediverse and the EU Digital Services Act: Solutions to the Challenges of Modern Social Media?' ✨

Thanks for giving me the possibility to speak about our @offene_netzwerke demands.

A huge thank you @jmaris for organising the panel & his excellent moderation. 👏

Thanks @alexandrageese member of the 🇪🇺 parliament, who took the time to join us & the FOSS community for this important debate over the weekend.

Every person joining the fediverse is a digital hero.

You may think it's a small thing. Yes, it's small thing but also a big step to make Internet better and people-first.

Made by the people for the people.

Oh, and also made for cats, dogs, capybaras and other puppies.

So, enjoy, encourage friends to join and let's make it a nice, inclusive and cozy space for everyone.

I dream of being able to store my online social presence, identity, and history just as — an (organized) set of static files.

A set that I control.

And, I can (if I want to) host myself. (I.e., I am the "source of truth" / "origin" for my files.)

Having some silly fun with @stegodon a new fediverse platform with an SSH TUI interface. The first screenshot is the web profile, the second is the TUI interface.

This is the first command line UI for ActivityPub client I've seen that has an actual backend server platform tied to it.
