My cheap, unaesthetic, non standard, but surprisingly effective bonsai setup is particularly good for the moss. I got this moss from my own backyard where it grows like a thick low carpet but it never grows so high outdoors on its own.

Little poufs of bright green moss perched on top of a gray weathered fencepost. They look like little round hills with long stalks sprouting out of them with brown tips that look like miniature cattails. Around the moss are various lichens in shades of blue-gray.
