The image displays a black-and-white photograph of an ancient figurine. The figure appears to be crafted from a dark material, possibly stone or clay, with fine details that suggest it is quite old and likely has cultural significance. It stands upright on what seems like a flat surface against a plain background.

The figurine's most striking feature is its face: large eyes bulging outwards, giving the impression of an eerie stare; prominent cheekbones and pronounced jawline add to this effect. The mouth appears twisted into a grimace or smile with visible teeth, enhancing the unsettling expression. Its arms are crossed over what seems like chest armor or clothing.

Above the figurine's head is another object that looks like it could be part of its helmet or some kind of headdress, also adorned and detailed in the same style as the figure itself. The overall composition of the photograph focuses on this singular piece with no distractions from the background, which appears uniformly dark, possibly to emphasize the subject.

The image's monochromatic color scheme adds a somber tone appropriate for an object that seems steeped in history or has ceremonial importance. This particular artifact is likely housed within an ethnographic museum as mentioned in its additional information source link provided.

Well, as this past weekend I went back to Engadin, I tried my new photography purchase: the Sony RX1R III... WOOOOOOOW! What a little powerhouse girl!: 60 MP, 35mm fix lense, small and full-frame, and very ... Zen! I LOVE IT 😍🥰

SONY RX1R III: Shadows and details in the woods (part 2)

From such a little and so fiercely criticised camera, I have to admit, that I believe many to be wrong. It requires a bit of time for shooting nicely with this camera, as its size is quite compact, but it is so nice to have it around...

Check these black and white details in the woods 😍🤩

#photography #photo #fotografia #blackandwhite #bnwphotography #bnw #monochrome #blancoynegro #travel #streetphotography #architecture

Good morning. Fall has been creeping in for a while now, but the calendar and many of the remaining blooms say it’s here. #Photography #Today #Fall #Chicago

a close-up of a large, vibrant pink zinnia flower in a garden setting. The flower is in the late stages of bloom, with its lower petals turning brown and dry, while the upper petals remain a bright, deep pink. In the blurred background, there are green leaves, a patch of grass, and hints of other flowers, including an orange one in the upper right corner.

This morning, just one subject (two illuminated twigs in the undergrowth) but three shots, each taken whilst deliberately moving in a different way: a horizontal movement, a rotation and a vertical movement.

#triptyque #icm #photography #triptych

What a difference a day makes – lots going on in the garden today, including glimpses of several dragonfly species.

Fingers crossed I get a chance to get some photos – I love them 🤞🐉🪰

In the meantime, this pretty thing is a short-winged rhopalid (Myrmus miriformis; 🇩🇪 Ameisen-Glasflügelwanze).

An insect seen from above on a white painted pebble dash wall. The insect has bright red, long, bent antennae with small black hairs, on a head that's mostly yellow green with red-brown compound eyes and red ocelli. The thorax is green and textured, as is the scutellum, followed by two very short wings that are pale transparent green each with two strong red veins. The abdomen is long and elliptical, mostly darker green, but with a black longitudinal stripe flanked by red most of its length. The legs are orange, light at the top, darker lower down, with small black hairs.
