Coastal cleanup activities going on today in Redwood National and State Parks. The morning was absolutely beautiful - quite a day to celebrate National Public Lands Day. Here’s a very interesting history of Coastal Cleanup Day https://www.coastal.ca.gov/publiced/ccd/history.html Learn more about the day at https://www.nps.gov/subjects/npscelebrates/public-lands-day.htm and https://www.neefusa.org/what-we-do/conservation/national-public-lands-day and #npld #nps #nationalparks #ocean #publiclands #photography #landscapephotography #coast #pacific #redwood #coastalcleanupday Image credit Kurt Angersbach / Westernlabs

National Public Lands Day activities today included coastal cleanup in Redwood National and State Parks. The day was absolutely beautiful, especially the morning hours-sun, clear skies, no wind, and a very reasonable tide. Thanks to everyone for supporting our public lands! (This photograph, from the Kuchel Visitor Center entrance, shows a portable sign announcing coastal cleanup day, which is illustrated with a pair of park visitors gathering trash.)

A Ledge in the Sun

A moment after yesterday’s photo of Óbidos I spotted a man taking a break in the sun. There were a lot of people about so I don’t blame him for wanting to take a moment to sit down. ...

A grey-haired man in sunglasses, a brown T-shirt reading "NEW RECORDS" and "YOUR COLLECTIVE TEAM", and blue shorts sits on a raised stone ledge against a bright yellow and white wall, with blue earphones in and a folded map in his hand, while two men in shorts stand on the cobbled street beside him looking towards a doorway.

For those curious about the reason for my frequent posts: I have far too many photos to edit and publish, and I don't even know where to start… 😇

The base of a patterned water glass is visible at the center top of the picture, sitting on a light-colored tile surface. The glass casts a hard shadow toward the camera, extending to the base of the photo at each lower corner.

In the middle of the photo, vibrant patterns of light scatter across the shadow and spill onto the brightly lit tile surface.

A calm coastal inlet with still, reflective water meeting a smooth white sand shoreline. Lush green coastal vegetation and dark bushes line the bank on the right, while low, forested hills sit under a heavy, overcast grey sky on the horizon. A subtle watermark is positioned in the bottom right corner.
