Picture-in-picture

#Birds #Nature #Photography

A Black-tailed Godwit perched on a thick, weathered wooden fence post in a lush, rural polder landscape.

It has a long, straight, needle-like bill, a warm orange-brown breeding plumage on its neck and breast, and mottled brown and grey feathers on its back. It is facing to the right, looking out over the landscape.

Mounted on the fence just below and to the left of the bird is an information placard. Ironically, the sign features an illustration of the exact same bird species, creating a "picture-in-picture" effect.

I'm going to upload 4 photos to pin on my profile. I enjoy photography and it is something I'm trying to get better at. Not only that, but I am planning to add more with ALT TXT, of course.

#Photography #Digital

A late summer scene along a bike path. Verdant bushes line the side with trees and brush providing ample cover from the break winds.

The same path later in the autumn season. The leaves are turning brown and crinkly as you walk amongst them on the path. The trees are not showing very much red, but many shades of yellows.

An intense orange stripe outlines the horizon in the distance. Driftwood shapes are a silhouette in the early evening. Taken mid-September on the shores of the mighty St. Lawrence river at sunset.

Sunset on a main street. The sky is riotous with colour. We have blues, purples, pinks, oranges, and red. The city lights are on, and the scene is quite well illuminated. There are houses and businesses dotted around the block. A stop sign is visible slightly to our right. There is dramatic lens flare with an almost golden cast, cutting neatly across the first 1/3rd of this image on the left.

Bumps

#LeafScrolling #Nature #Photography

A green leaf with a prominent central vein running vertically down the middle. The surface of the leaf is textured and dotted with numerous small, raised, rounded green bumps scattered on either side of the midrib. The lighting creates highlights and subtle shadows around these bumps, giving them a three-dimensional appearance.

A minty, blurry background contrasts and highlights the delicate buds of an unidentified grass/flower. Three balls of spiky, hairy fluff occupy the bottom and left of the shot. Small crimped buds with white leaves imprisoning a mustard centre splatter the rest of the scene. It’s a bit like a constellation of stars. A bit.

A Second World War air raid shelter, filled with fascinating portraits scrawled on the walls.

Inside one of the chambers is a time capsule underground art gallery, of sorts. The walls are covered with around 20 portraits, mostly drawn in charcoal or soot. Many depict women with 1940s hairstyles, alongside soldiers and well-dressed men. Some are signed with initials.
