In parallel with my blog on https://teofranchi.com/teos-talks I also run a newsletter, which is currently managed on Substack. It's basically the same list of articles you could find on the blog, but directly in your inbox. Now, Substack worked well until now, even if it requires me to manually copy the articles from my blog to the Substack editor. Lately I've been thinking a lot about optimization of my workflows and this is clearly a point to improve. So I'm currently trying sender.net. It's a simple newsletter service, no social implications like the ones you can find in Substack. And this only is already a plus. But even more intriguing is they have an API I can use to automate the copy of the article directly from Wordpress. I'm still making some tests, but it looks a lot promising.

Dupont Street, Toronto. September, 2026.

I caught them there deep in conversation as I was scoping the subway entrances and surrounding area for good shots to take.

Against a painted mural of birds on the side of a building, two people sit in the lower right corner on a bench, having a conversation.

Wassen beelden van een blinde bedelaar en zijn dochter, Mexico, Ed van der Elsken, 1960

#Wassenbeeldenvaneen #Mexico #EdvanderElsken #fotografie #photography #EdVanDerElsken #EdvanderElsken

http://www.rijksmuseum.nl/en/collection/RP-F-2019-298-4-6

The image depicts a black and white photograph capturing an intimate moment between two individuals, possibly portraying a father-daughter relationship. The setting appears to be outdoors with the figures seated on what seems like a wall or ledge in front of a building characterized by barred windows indicative of older architecture.

On the left side is a person wearing oversized clothing, including pants that are loose and frayed at the bottom. They have on boots secured up high near their knees, which seem worn out as well. A large straw hat with an extended brim shades this individual's face, concealing any details from direct view while casting shadows over the eyes.

To the right is another person wearing a dark shawl or cloak draped around them and lighter-colored pants with noticeable patches of wear. Their posture suggests they are resting their head on what appears to be one knee, indicating fatigue or distress.

The expressions conveyed through body language suggest concern, exhaustion, or sadness between these figures. The attire indicates poverty or hardship.

Cats squeeze into he smallest corner. 🍋

In fact, there is a lemon tree next to them (right). Hopefully helpful to produce fruits for the very first time in this winter season! 😀 🙏

In 2022 I started a project called, A Pez Romance. I was collecting pez dispensers and photographing them with double exposure, and set against vivid backgrounds. I was aiming to capture a dreamlike childhood memory of toys and sweets. https://markbreretonart.com/2025/06/12/test-post/ #photography #art
