I thought the sci fi elements were - really fucking stupid. Fun, but stipid. I quickly realized though the heart of this film is Rocky and his relationship with Grace- and most of the stupid sci fi was in service of that. Probably the right call - they’re so sweet.

The animation style is getting tired, and I’m not totally sure how I feel about the specific themes, but it’s otherwise- masterfully executed. Absolutely bat shit and the climatic sequence is - fucking harrowing. Has the kind of sauce pixar movies have been lacking for a hot minute.
