Thatched roofs are actually quite rare in the region nowadays, most being replaced by tile in the last century.

#FotoVorschlag 'Typisch für meinen Wohnort / meine Heimat /// Typical of where I live / my hometown'

Da, wo ich wohne, sieht's oftmals aus wie auf dem Mars: Hitze, Dürre & Borkenkäfer haben dem Fichtenwald den Garaus gemacht.
// 🥺
Where I live, it often looks like Mars: heat, drought and bark beetles have killed the spruce forest there.
Dystopian.

In the bottom quarter of the photo, a brown, desolate landscape with tree stumps and scattered branches. There used to be a forest here. Most of the dead wood has already been cleared away. On the horizon, a few solitary stumps and a scrawny bush. Above, a steel-blue, cloudless sky with a white crescent moon. Sad and desolate, dystopian.
