The image shows a close-up of a textured metal plate with a diamond-shaped pattern. The diamonds are slightly raised and have a metallic brown, rusty colour. The surface appears textured and slightly worn. Fine irregularities and variations in colour lend the material an industrial or vintage charm.

Shall we play a game? (film reference)
An easy 20 questions...

ALSO! I found that I was no longer following at least two people who I can assure you I did not manually unfollow. So if I was following you and I'm no longer doing so, please let me know. Also, if you're following me and you want me to follow you, please say so. I mainly want to follow accounts that are active (and interactive) so if that's you, let me know!

The business end of a wax seal stamp. Apparently made of aluminum since magnets aren't attracted to it. About three-quarters of an inch in diameter. I'm guessing in was made back in the 1970s or 1980s and sold by Hallmark or some such store. The other side screws into a wooden handle, allowing that handle to be used with multiple stamps. This particular stamp features a fancy capital A (in reverse of course). I used to have a special light blue rectangular candle (with a simple ivy design on the wide sides) to use with it. I'd light the candle, tilt it, allow a few drops of melting wax to drip onto an envelope I wanted to seal, press the stamp into the hot wax, then let the wax cool and solidify with the A big and clear enough for the entire world to see (if the world happened to be in my room at the time). It all seemed rather magical back then, an act and a thing that made me one with all those historic kings and queens who'd seal their envelopes with their official seal - and woe unto those who dared break that seal without authorization! Unfortunately, I don't think many of my seals made their way safely through the US postal system intact (and lacking the power of a king or queen there was damn little I could do about it). Oh, well. I guess it really didn't matter since neither my first nor last name starts with an A. (I guess I forgot this when I made my purchase. *Sigh*)

Photograph of a wavy, bare field with an orange-brown earth that looks like a desert, contrasting with the pure blue sky above. The field is in the sun far away and in the shadow in the foreground, with the cross-shaped silhouette of a pole and electric wires.

Top view of a vanilla cake donut (doughnut) with sky blue frosting sporting white, pink, green, orange, and yellow sugar sprinkles on the left half and an M-shaped line of white frosting on the right half. Or is it? Nope! It's actually a fake food prop made of squishy foam and only 2 inches in diameter. Were you fooled? I was - and continue to be. It's taking all my willpower to resist sneaking a bite or two just to be sure it's fake. So far, so good, but I doubt my ability to keep this up forever. Perhaps the solution is to leave it out in a conspicuous place and let someone else perform the taste test for me? No? Drat! Now what?? *Wondering if I can hold out long enough to get it into a bank's safe deposit box*

The front side of a US WWII Good Conduct medal. Made of bronze. The slightly raised words "EFFICIENCY - HONOR - FIDELITY" appear in an arc just inside the outer edge. The center depicts an eagle atop a Roman sword atop a closed book. About 1.25 inches in diameter. I inherited it about 15 years ago from a male relative who served in the US Army Air Corps (1944-45). He was the tail gunner in a bomber and didn't have much to do because at that point the skies over Europe had been pretty much cleared of Axis planes. Had it been me I probably would have been awarded a Bad Conduct medal for puking all over the plane every time it took off with me in it.

Back side of the Good Conduct medal. Laurel and oak leaves frame the center in which the words "FOR GOOD" appear above a star representing merit and a blank ribbon/irregular rectangle space. The word "CONDUCT" appears under that. You can buy similar versions on eBay for about 20 dollars. Some have the name of the recipient (poorly) engraved inside the ribbon. Many do not. I don't know why. Some have a red ribbon with white vertical stripes attached to the (unphotographed) loop at the top. This one does not. Some are in the original box. This one is not. My relative didn't talk about his service much. That may have been because he was trying to forget or repress bad memories, but I don't think so. Instead, he always seemed rather bored by it all. Maybe that's why Steven Spielberg hasn't ever answered the letter I wrote him suggesting he make a movie about my relative. Or maybe I forgot to put a stamp on the letter. If he ever gives me a reply, I'll let you know (if I still know how to write).
