Last year for my 50th birthday I treated myself to renting a motorboat on Sardegna (Italy), and my wife and I surrounded the island La Maddalena, where we found this beautiful bay with its azure blue water.

Golden hour in pride territory. 🦁☀️

Young lions spend considerable time resting alongside older females, absorbing crucial social cues and pride dynamics while soaking up the late-day sun. The intense amber eyes on the young lion behind contrast beautifully with the peaceful, resting expression of the lioness in front.

Night patrol at the river's edge. 🌙🐾
Spotted hyenas are highly intelligent, highly adaptable apex predators and scavengers that do most of their active hunting and patrolling under the cover of night. Catching this individual pausing along the illuminated waterbank gives a fantastic look at their distinct sloping silhouette and keen attentiveness.
