"Wolves and women are relational by nature, inquiring, possessed of great endurance and strength. They are deeply intuitive, intensely concerned with their young, their mate and their pack. Yet both have been hounded, harassed and falsely imputed to be devouring and devious, overly aggressive, of less value than those who are their detractors." ~ Clarissa Pinkola Estes

View of a blue lake in the distance under a light blue sky with green lawn and a few trees of a park in front of the lake with a road and brown vegetation in front of the park. In the foreground are stone pillars under a roof with a wrought iron gate to the left of the frame lit by the golden light of the low angle sunlight. The backside of a statue of a woman is seen between a pillar and the right edge of the frame. The edge of a cement patio is at the bottom of the view. A branch of a tree with only a few leaves remaining hangs down into the view and appears to be from a close by tree.

This pair of jays had chosen an interesting nesting spot: a broken streetlight.

They were therefore used to people passing by and were not bothered by me. You can see them in the first photo trying to get their parents attention. A very nice experience with these beautiful birds!

A pair of jays nesting in a broken streetlight. The streetlight is an older one, with large round glasses inside of a metal frame. One glass is broken and is now the entrance to the birds nest.
Two chicks are raising their heads from the bottom of the nest trying to get food from the parent birds.

The same streetlight from a distance, the top part of the light is in the frame. The background consists of some trees and is blurred. Only one bird is sitting in the nest this time and is looking through the broken glass.

This is a close-up, low-light photograph of the petals of a hydrangea flower with a dark and moody aesthetic. The petals are deep red, magenta, and purple, with some areas appearing almost black. Their texture is visible, showing fine veins and a slightly rough, velvety surface. The lighting is soft and directional, creating subtle highlights and deep shadows that add to the dramatic feel.

🔎Rusty textures at an abandoned bicycle workshop in Northern Ireland. I loved these old signs and petrol pumps; it was a fantastic excuse to take some detail shots.

Bonus points, check out the last photo! Do you know what the colourful tubes are in the final image? Have you ever used any of those?

A Rhododendron leafhopper, resting on a large green leaf. The green insect has a distinctive red or reddish-orange stripe running down its back. Its legs are a pale yellow or light green color. The insect is positioned in the upper-middle of the frame, facing slightly to the left. The leaf it's on is a deep green with visible veins and a slightly textured surface.

An elderly person with short white hair is sitting in a chair, seen through a window. She is wearing glasses, a white shirt, and a light blue apron. They are leaning forward, working on a crossword puzzle.

A wine glass is on a wooden surface in front of her, and a white lantern with star cutouts is next to it. Potted plants and other objects are visible, both inside the room and reflected in the window. The background outside the window shows residential buildings and trees under a colorful sky.

Wildfire Sunset Route 6 - last evening driving on Route 6 and you could see the effect of the Canada wildfires in the sunset sky. The sun was a giant ball of fire. Disastrous and yet so beautiful... Hope there's relief soon.

I've created a 2025 calendar using bird pictures I took in 2024. It's free, so pass it on to bird-loving friends. Here's the link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OzbiOhuY4ulVrHKO7TFlZDBd9qCNHPUu/view?usp=drive_link

Remnant of Summer

Leipzig 09/26

#photography #street #streetphotography #minimalist #contrast #color #colorstreet #urban #leipzig #summer

The image shows a close-up, low-angle view of a rusty metal fence against a bright blue sky with a few wispy white clouds. The fence is composed of several vertical spikes and a horizontal bar. The spikes are pointed and have a weathered appearance, with patches of rust and some greenish discoloration, likely due to oxidation.

The most prominent object in the image is a waffle cone, broken and placed precariously on top of the uppermost spike of the fence. The cone is light brown, with the characteristic grid pattern of a waffle. It is positioned slightly off-center to the right, creating a focal point.
