A quiet afternoon at the river.

Yarra River Trail, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

A photograph shot at a distance across a gently rippled river. On the other side of the river on the stone-brick river bank is an asphalt trail with three bicycle riders evenly spaced riding towards the right, with a younger rider leading at the front on the right. Cutting diagonally from the centre left to the middle-upper right is another asphalt trail which joins on (at the lower left), and there is a pedestrian walking down this trail. The pedestrian is positioned in the photograph between the centre and right-most cyclist, and the pedestrian's feet are at about the chest-level of the riders. The rest of the land is evenly-coloured green grass. There is a sign to the left of the left-most cyclist that says "CAPITAL HILL TRAIL." At the top of the grassed area is a road, with poles and parked cars. There is another trail at the road level with some more pedestrians on the left of the frame. In the background are trees with muted-colour leaves and a gentle dirt hillside.

Very happy this paper is published! Great+deep work led by Clément Sebastiao. We systematically study strategies to grow a transport network step by step - motivated by #bicycle networks which need to be functional as soon as possible.

Thanks, I hate it!

I’m hoping it’s an art piece in which case I still hate it, but less.

a bicycle in a bike rack at lake forest park city hall with a small two-cycle engine right up against the handlebars and a big belt going from the drive shaft to the rear wheel, one hand brake being a throttle and the other being maybe a drag brake as it affects tension on the belt.

Where do the #lowtech and #NeoLuddites hang out? The #permaculture and #bicycle geeks? The co-op and #RepairCafe heroes?

Looking for alternate scenes around alternate living: sharing, building, eating, and learning together.

Much obliged.

Eurobox bicycle basket!

#diy #eurobox #bicycle

Two 40x30 cm euro crates stacked on top of a bike rack.
The top, higher one is clipped onto the bottom flat one.

The lower crate without the top crate, the mounting method is shown.
Two horizontal aluminum strips with 2 screws each

The bottom of the mount is shown.
There are two aluminum strips underneath the bike carrier. They have 45° bent edges to give them rigidity. There is also some rubber mat between them and the tubes of the carrier so it doesn't slide or scratch it.

I am thinking of buying some foldable rear side baskets (pannier) for my bicycle.
I've only found these. Are they any good? Is this style of basket good?

Car-free day, and the park does the rest. A bicycle left on the grass, two people talking with their backs to the camera, peach walls going gold. Cities are at their best when nobody drives through them.

Bicycle and Nasturtiums

📷️ Ricoh GRIIIX

#photography #photo #fotografie #color #ricoh #bicycle #flowers

This color photograph captures a bicycle parked by a metal fence in a city courtyard. The main subject of the frame is a bicycle with a brown leather saddle, grips, and a woven basket, which looks retro-warm and cozy. It stands leaning against the dark fence, and its details (rack, pedals, spokes) are carefully rendered. On the right, against the greenery, nasturtium leaves with bright red-orange flowers grow, adding freshness and color to the frame. The image conveys the atmosphere of a quiet summer day, "unnoticed" urban coziness, and that special beauty that lives in simple things.
