A shadow that caught my eye the other day

Shadow against a white wall of a small glass vase containing some lavender. The sun filtering through a tree and a window, create some bokeh-like effect on the wall.

River scene in warm evening light with a stone arch bridge in the background. A bridge pier on the left is covered in colorful graffiti lettering, largely in red and beige. In front of it lies a wide gravel bank that gives way to dark, still water in the foreground. The water holds the dark silhouette of the bridge as a diffuse, triangular shape, broken by a bright, point-like reflection of light at its center. Dense trees grow in the background on the right, with a staircase leading up to the bridge behind them. The lower portion of the frame is fully dark.

When visiting Mount Martha a few months ago I took a morning walk with some friends along the Balcombe Estuary Boardwalk Circuit. It's an absolutely gorgeous walk. The place is beautiful, and the thick trees provide a nice shade that allows the sunlight to filter through in a very satisfying way.

I'm dropping this in as a #shittember entry. In my eyes, the focus isn't really great on the image and I can't get the lighting dynamics quite right. I like the image but posting this one makes me a bit uncomfortable, and (at least to me) #shittember is somewhat about easing up on yourself, freeing yourself of those performance criteria, and just doing it anyway, so here it is.
