Once a year, maybe, weather conditions are just right to produce hoar frost and rime. When the sun comes out, the world turns magical for a few brief hours.

A black and white image of a curved mountain slope, covered in grass. In the shallow pit two objects compose the shot: a small cabin / Cottage and a coniferous tree standing somewhat apart on the meadow, but still forming a balanced pair in the composition. In the distance / upper part a wooden fence marks a hiking trail with some bushes on the side.

I wrote (in Italian, this time) a few reflections on my perception of time, shaped by a place I visited recently.

Golden hour had finally arrived. The rising sun illuminated the lingering morning mist, turning the heathland into a sea of gold. Backlit by the warm light, this solitary tree stood quietly against the glowing landscape. A simple scene, yet one that only exists for a few fleeting minutes before the morning transforms once again.

Union River Wildlife Area near Belfair, Washington.

I liked how the marsh grasses curved into the calm water, with the old pilings and reflections. It was a quiet morning out there.

A calm wetland scene at Union River Wildlife Area near Belfair, Washington. Golden-green marsh grasses curve around several inlets of still blue water in the foreground and left side of the frame. Three weathered wooden pilings rise from the water near the center-right, each reflected below in the smooth surface. Across the water, a dark evergreen-covered hillside forms the background, with a few small farm buildings visible along the far shore. Soft reflections of the trees stretch across the water beneath an overcast sky. The scene feels quiet, spacious, and peaceful.

A smaller scene from Crystal Mountain that caught my eye.

I liked how the bright bush on this little island stood out against the dark evergreens and clear alpine water. 📷

This is a landscape photo taken in the morning from the shore of a smaller lake in cottage county. The water is calm resulting in reflections of the clouds overhead and the trees on the opposite shoreline. A small patch of weeds is just visible in the foreground. The terrain on the opposite side of the lake is in silhouette. This photo has a peaceful feel to it.
