It’s a lovely day in #London for a #walk - bright, but still an edge of chill in the air. So nice when compared to the hot weather we’ve had of late. It’s also nice that I’ve finally been capable of doing the second half of this walk - downside of getting older is that things take so much longer to heal now :(

A view from the south bank of the Thames looking north over the river to the City of London. The tide is out, abit on the turn, so the foreshore is visible. The sky has wisps of clouds in an otherwise blue sky

Black-and-white photo of a person lying face down on a bed, arm extended with a leaf tattoo on the upper arm. A small curly-haired dog rests against the person’s side, and a cat sleeps on a round tray near the person’s hand. Rumpled blankets and clothing fill the foreground, with a blurred cat and wall posters in the background.

'Restlicht'

#FotoVorschlag #photography #monochrome

Photograph of a 3 story, narrow house on top a cliff. The cliff rocky face can be seen through an otherwise dense bush layer. In the foreground and at the bottom of the valley, a single electric pole next to a small wooden shed is present. The sky is cloudless blue.

A wide stone pier stretches into the North Sea, offering a peaceful #SeasideWalk with stunning #CoastalScenery. Located in Whitby Harbour, a popular seaside town in North Yorkshire, it provides a classic #HarbourView of the historic port and the rugged shoreline. Visitors often stroll along the weathered stones, enjoying the salty breeze and the sight of fishing boats and lighthouses. The combination of tidal rock flats, expansive skies, and the enduring #StonePier makes this a favourite spot for both tourists and locals alike.

A stone pier extends into the sea under a partly cloudy sky with patches of blue. The wide, weathered surface of the pier is scattered with puddles and faint markings, and a few people walk leisurely along its length towards small lighthouses at the far end. To the right, the tide is low, exposing dark, flat rock formations with shallow pools leading out to the calm water. The horizon meets the sea in the distance, with a muted line of hills faintly visible to the left. The atmosphere feels open and quiet, with soft lighting from the diffused sunlight breaking through the clouds.

This strange shot I took in a street photography session in a passenger underpass of a railway station. One tile on the wall carried a fragment of a sticker that got ripped off and on the fragment there was only one word left, "Warum?" what means "Why?" in German. Together with the gloomy mood in the tunnel that gave me an almost existencialist feeling.

Controlling the horizontal and the vertical

A diptych of two square format black-and-white photographs: the left shows a close-up of a bearded man in glasses lit by horizontally striped light; the right photo has a predominantly vertical feel and shows what could be interpreted as a glass skull, with eyes and teeth, but is actually a plastic dinking glass.

There was someone I loved who grew old and ill.
One by one I watched the fires go out.
There was nothing I could do

except to remember
that we receive
then we give back.
