The upper part of the ascent to #Wendelstein is a steep path carved into the rock, with a short, dark tunnel. This was the beautiful view through one of the ventilation holes.

![The image depicts a black and white photograph of an illustrated scene, likely from the early 20th century. In the foreground, there's handwritten text in Spanish on what appears to be a page with a decorative border at its top. The handwriting is somewhat faded but includes phrases such as "Hahindo benido á pasiar," mentioning events related to a train station and individuals named Juana Timida y Juanita del Mariano Ruiles.
The central part of the photograph shows an illustration of a steam locomotive on tracks with smoke emerging from its chimney, indicating motion. The engine car has several windows and is connected by a chain link to another similar carriage behind it. There are barrels or kegs lying beside the track at the bottom left corner, suggesting some industrial activity.
In the background stands a white building labeled "CHOLULA," likely representing Cholula in Mexico where this incident took place according to historical records mentioned on its side. The word appears above an open door of the structure and is written in bold capital letters.
The illustration captures what seems to be a train crash or derailment with one carriage lying askew, implying that it has derailed from the track. Debris can be seen scattered around the railway tracks near this derailing car, indicating disruption caused by the incident.

Curious clouds shapes provide a background for crows and flying machines.
As the evening progressed, the clouds were canvas for one of the finer sunsets we’ve had in a while.
