Fucking around with an ND filter and lens zooming at Heron's Head Park, July 2024.

This is a one second exposure of a dirt path that lies between two inlets of water on the eastern edge of San Francisco. Handheld, f/14, ISO 100... the photo was taken while twisting the lens from 18 to 27mm while the shutter was open.

The results is more painting-ish than it is photography and I keep changing my mind about it... so this has sat in my Lightroom catalog for more than 2 years.

#photography

A view from the end of a path at a nature preserve on the edge of San Francisco Bay. The view looks west, towards the city. Everything is blurred / smeared... and very heavily vignetted. There are blue skies above, oatmeal-colored ground below, and a thin line of trees on the horizon in the distance.

This looks like I made this while watching an instructional learn-to-paint show on TV while only owning a 3 inch wide wall brush bought at Home Depot. Oy.

Fluffy, round wren I met recently. Seems to be handling the cold winter fine.

Next time you catch yourself saying: 'Fuck. That was stupid. Why did I do that?'

--- rewrite it: ---

'Fuck. That was thoughtless. Why did I do that?'

Then it becomes a problem you can work on vs. a reprimand from a shitty boss.

Be kind to yourself.

A mild chicane in a rail line can be seen up ahead looking east from the bridge to the local cemetery. Although we're in town, you wouldn't know it. There are mountains of yellow in the frame, late-October fall trees surrounding us, remnants of the Great Carolinian Forest, and the rail bed itself lined with Halloween orange and browns. The yellow leaves seem to hold on longest. There's a V-shaped wedge of mottled blue sky in the background, summer's last goodbye wave.

Weg naar Gooilust

#Autumn #Landscape #Nature #Photography

A beautiful tree-lined path, creating a natural tunnel effect. The ground is covered with a thick carpet of fallen, reddish-brown leaves, leading the eye into the distance.

Far down the path, near the vanishing point, a few small figures are walking, which provides a sense of scale and adds a human element to the vast natural setting.

I captured this photograph at the Albury Botanical Gardens.

The Albury Botanic Gardens are a botanical garden located in the city of Albury, New South Wales, Australia. The garden was established in 1877 and forms an example of the mainstream ideas about gardening in the 19th and 20th centuries. Wikipedia

This image shows a lush garden filled with flowering plants and accompanied by a classic lamppost. Sunlight filters through the trees, illuminating the scene beautifully.

A black and white photograph of a winter landscape shows a forest path covered in deep snow and marked with deer tracks, with sunlight filtering through the tree branches. Spruce and cedar trees stand to the right of the path and at the top of the image. A garden decoration in the form of a small Japanese house, also covered in snow, is located to the right.

cold river

#river #icetodon #winter #snow #forest #quebec #photography

Photograph of a river almost entirely covered by a thick layer of opaque white ice forming stalactites on its edges, and on top of that by a layer of snow, with a fast current and rapids still visible in the center of the riverbed. Dark forest lines both banks and contrasts with the very white, bluish snow. The photo is taken from above, from a bridge over the river.

Buffleheads (Bucephala albeola) are cute but they dive ''all the time'' and you end up with a lot of photos of the sea. 😆 This is the female.

Le petit garrot est bien mignon mais il est toujours en train de plonger alors tu te retrouves avec plein de photos de la mer. Ceci est la femelle.
