Photograph of an abandoned boiler, rusted and now dark brown with a deep red hue. The boiler sits on the edge of a river, with blue water and green and grey bushes on its banks, in a red desert landscape typical of southwest US, with mesas and canyons on each side of the river.

Dragon (WaldMenschen VI)

#Art #Nature #Photography

A large, wooden dragon sculpture situated in a vibrant, sun-dappled forest. The sculpture, crafted from various pieces of natural wood and logs, including a large tree trunk for its body, dominates the lower half of the frame. Its head, sculpted with an open mouth and visible teeth, is particularly detailed and faces towards the right. Pieces of wood are used to suggest horns or spikes on its head and back. The forest itself is lush and green, with tall trees, mostly deciduous, forming a dense canopy that allows patches of sunlight to filter through and illuminate the scene, creating a sense of depth and ethereal light.

The wooden sculptures are part of the Skulpturenpfad by Thomas Rees near Freiburg.

Little Walker Road Haunted Marshland - seems that way when you're standing there in the November air. Spirits all around you. You can almost hear them whispering...

#SilentSunday #sea #sunset #beach #photography

Photograph of a sunset on the edge of a beach, showing a gradient of pastel colors, in shades of orange, yellow, pink and mauve, reflecting on the calm bluish sea. In the foreground, the black silhouette of a man and a woman, close to each other and holding a phone in their hand, taking a selfie in front of the sunset. Rocks with birds are in the water behind them. Further back, the silhouette of an island and in the background, a lighthouse can be seen on the horizon, under some purple clouds.

Flower no 1

My orchid did me the honour of growing a flowering stem with eight buds this winter. First one finally opened today.

#macro #flowers #bloomscrolling #orchid #photography

Macro photograph of the centre of a white orchid flower, with yellow coloration at the base of the petals and on reproductive parts, and red dots and lines around them.

The intricacies of an orchid flower make it quite difficult for macro photography, as nothing is really flat and you need to be very accurate on the exact spot you want in focus.

Macro photograph of a white orchid flower, showing the labellum (a modified petal) from under, with its two curved yellow "antennas" on each side. Blurred behind the rest of the flower can be seen, with some red in the centre.

Profile of a mlem.

#TheCatPicturesWillContinueUntilTheSituationImproves #TimelineCleanser #CatsOfMastodon #CatsOfFediverse #Cats #Pets #Photography

A photo of Ernie, a tabby cat, sitting on a staircase, facing and looking to the camera right, currently licking his chops (mlem), with his tail hanging over the step. All for of his paws are very close together, with one kind of pointed at the camera and at the very edge of the step. His ears are somewhat perked, at least something mildly interesting is happening in front of him.
