Bicycle and Nasturtiums

📷️ Ricoh GRIIIX

#photography #photo #fotografie #color #ricoh #bicycle #flowers

This color photograph captures a bicycle parked by a metal fence in a city courtyard. The main subject of the frame is a bicycle with a brown leather saddle, grips, and a woven basket, which looks retro-warm and cozy. It stands leaning against the dark fence, and its details (rack, pedals, spokes) are carefully rendered. On the right, against the greenery, nasturtium leaves with bright red-orange flowers grow, adding freshness and color to the frame. The image conveys the atmosphere of a quiet summer day, "unnoticed" urban coziness, and that special beauty that lives in simple things.

Today's #SchiffsSamstag features the original 1998 Grand-class vessel Grand Princess on the left, and the 2012 Solstice-class Celebrity Reflection on the right in St Maarten last year. Both ships have capacities of around 3000 passengers, the ideal size for us.

#Photography #Travel #Cruise #ShipSaturday #SchiffSamstag #StMaarten #Caribbean

We're in a flat cruise port, looking across a paved area to a very low wall of rocks built up to provide some sea defence protection, although they're not needed now as it feels like a still day with the sea looking nearly flat. There are clouds in the sky, thin with hints of the blue sky behind, and it feels sticky and warm, typical of Caribbean island countries. Our focus is on the two cruise ships that are docked at a low pier that emerges from just right of us. Both ships are facing in towards land so our view of them is one partly obscuring the other, both next to each other with prows pointing towards and to the right of us, and a stream of passengers walking along the pier between the vessels on their ways back to their ships. The ships are similar in size but of different designs. The ship on the left is mostly white with a stylised blue female form with wavy hair painted on the hull. The prow has a slight curve to it and a split that runs around it which contains a covered wraparound promenade deck but also lends the vessel a semi-dolphin-like appearance. The ship on the right looks more traditional with a sharper prow and dark blue hull beneath its decks of white balconies.

Foto im Hochformat. Sonnenuntergang, Teleaufnahme.

Throwback Saturday

Looking for a pic with a #lights theme, I remembered this snap from 2017. It was taken somewhere in SW Ireland, but I can't remember the exact location. It was very dark and I used a tripod (which I don't often do.)

#photography #nightphotography #landscapephotography

The image depicts a serene nighttime scene of a waterfront promenade. The path is lined with streetlights, their warm glow reflecting beautifully on the calm water surface. A thick layer of fog or mist hovers above the water, creating a dreamy and tranquil atmosphere. The sky is a deep, rich blue, transitioning to softer hues near the horizon. The overall mood is peaceful and slightly mysterious.

Here Comes the Bride

#Urban #Photography

Standing on a dark-tiled platform behind an ornate, polished marble balustrade is a person viewed from behind. She is wearing a long, elegant white bridal gown with a delicate, translucent lace veil draped over their head and shoulders.

In the background, a monumental historical painting spans the wall. The painting is part of the monumental cycle "De roem van de Antwerpse kunstschool" located in the iconic monumental staircase gallery of the Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten Antwerpen (KMSKA).

It features a scene filled with numerous figures in historical attire. At the center, an enthroned allegorical figure wearing a crown and red robes holds a wreath and text, flanked by seated female figures below and crowds of historical or political personages arranged on tiers to either side.
