A couple of long, long Septembers ago...the uniquely vivid color of the Pacific when the nights grow long yet the air is still about as warm as it's ever going to get.

Some street photography from Breganzona to Lugano (part 2)

Taking photos where we live, it is not easy. There are places we see everyday, but when we start taking photos, we have to learn to look at it with a particular eye: seeing something particular through the usual. 🤩📸😍 I love photography 🤩📸😍.

Some street photography from Breganzona to Lugano (part 3)

Though it is tiny, the Sony RX1R III can really deliver an impressive quality, other than a great time. I like it both in a city, as well as in the mountains. It is discreet and perfect for any situation... 🤩📸😍.

Some street photography from Breganzona to Lugano (part 4)

Downtown Lugano everyone was getting ready for the StraLugano, the running competition, so people were eating in the street, music everywhere, and athletes getting ready. I preferred to photograph a typical Swiss symbol: the Alp-horn! It is part of our culture and it is really special 😍📸🤩

Kruisbeeld in Mexico, Ed van der Elsken, 1960

#Kruisbeeld #Mexico #EdvanderElsken #fotografie #photography #EdVanDerElsken #EdvanderElsken

http://www.rijksmuseum.nl/en/collection/RP-F-2019-298-9-55

The image depicts a black and white photograph capturing an intense religious scene. At the center, there is a figure in crucifixion pose with outstretched arms holding onto a cross beam above them. The individual appears to be shirtless with a dark vest or skirt adorned with what seems like a heart symbol on it. Above their head rests another object that could possibly represent an accessory often associated with religious iconography, such as a crown of thorns.

In the background, there are blurred figures which likely indicate spectators seated in pews typical of church architecture. The focus is primarily on the central figure and its immediate surroundings, creating a sense of solitude amidst an audience. The lighting highlights certain aspects of the image while casting others into shadow, contributing to the dramatic effect of the scene.

Additional information about this photograph can be found through references like Kruisbeeld in Mexico by Ed van der Elsken from 1960, which suggests that the photo may have been taken during a religious event or procession. The specific details and context behind this image would require further research to fully understand its significance within cultural or historical frameworks.
