A black and white macro photograph with a touch of sepia, depicting a small, slightly wispy feather that has fallen onto ice. The ice is black with air bubbles at the top of the image, and white with holes at the bottom. Spruce needles are also trapped in the ice.

Black and white photograph of a spruce forest in winter, with the ground covered in white snow. The bright sun is visible behind the trees and casts the shadows of the long, straight trunks onto the snow towards the front and bottom of the photo.

What a beautiful morning at the lake. But the sun felt already hot before 8 am. Kengo did a great job walking, sniffing, eating grass and whatnot. He rested only once.

Roots! Clinging desperately to the side of the hill! Or casually exploring the environs.
#Photography #SeattleWashington #SeattleParks #SeattleSpring #RavennaPark #NativePlants #NativePlantsOfThePNW #PseudotsugaMenziesii

An image of Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) roots growing on the side of a hill. The roots are gradually being exposed by weathering, and look a bit as if they are clinging for dear life. Doug firs are notoriously shallow rooted and are the most likely trees to fall in windy rainstorms

A young Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) has a mass of surface roots casually exploring the ground, with ferns, dewberries and small plants growing on top.

// Exif on post‘s instance

A black and white image of a curved mountain slope, covered in grass. In the shallow pit two objects compose the shot: a small cabin / Cottage and a coniferous tree standing somewhat apart on the meadow, but still forming a balanced pair in the composition. In the distance / upper part a wooden fence marks a hiking trail with some bushes on the side.

Photograph of dance group training at sunset in a gazebo by a seafront promenade. The sunset sky is a gradient from deep blue at the top to yellow to red near the horizon. The dancers are blurry from motion blur while the gazebo and other static elements of the picture are detailed and neat.

to the meadows

#running #bloomscrolling #flowers #photography

Photograph of a signpost showing a black arrow turning right on a yellow background, planted in the middle of a dense strip of cow parsley with white flowers, running along a green lawn with large green trees behind. The road is not visible in the photo and the sign gives the impression of having to turn towards a flower meadow.
