View of the Greek side and the no-man's-land in between.

A rusty sign that reads “The BEACH BAR” lies in the sand. There's rusty junk scattered around it.

Border with no man's land, Turkish side. A few oranges strung together in a chain hang from the fence.

Border with the no-man's-land, Turkish side. A weathered sign depicting a soldier and bearing the words “FORBIDDEN ZONE” warns against entering.

#PhotOfTheDay is another sign that caught my eye, this time on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Explanation in the ALT.

#photo #photography #hawaii #explore

A common Hawaiian local idiom. Per https://dapidgin.com/olelo/broke-da-mouth, ""Broke da mouth" is a universally understood and beloved compliment in Hawaii, used by locals of all ages to praise exceptionally good food." There are a number of variations.

Abendimpressionen.

#Ostsee #mond #moon #balticsea #photography

Scenes from the Kumano Kodo's Nakahechi route 1/3

#StreetPhoto #Photography #BlackAndWhitePhotography #Monochrome #Japan #Wakayama #KumanoKodo #Nakahechi #JapanPhotography #JapanTravel #HikingJapan #PilgrimageTrail #UNESCO #NachiFalls #EverydayJapan

Visitors look out from a railed viewpoint toward the three-storey Seiganto-ji pagoda on the Kumano Kodo in Wakayama, Japan. Nachi Falls drops in a long narrow cascade down a forested cliff face behind the pagoda. Steps, manicured gardens, and scattered visitors fill the grounds below.

A person seated in a chair on a wooden deck gazes out through a screened sliding door at a panoramic view of layered green mountain ridges disappearing into a pale sky. Shot in black and white through the mesh of the screen.

Rows of low tea bushes lead toward a traditional Japanese farmhouse almost entirely engulfed by thick climbing vines and overgrown vegetation. Bamboo and cedar trees rise behind it on a hillside.

Hikers pick their way through a densely planted cedar forest on the Kumano Kodo. Dozens of tall straight trunks rise from a slope littered with fallen logs. The figures are small against the scale of the forest.

Some pictures from early 2026 of a foggy cold day skating at Prince's Island. It was interesting to have so much fog in winter-- as I remember, if I had been maybe a day or so earlier I would have gotten a lot of hoar frost but these are nice, too.

Some people overlook an outdoor skating pond in winter. Bridge and some bare trees. Deep fog hides whatever would otherwise be in the background (downtown).
