I went out, today, on the bike and took the Lumix GX1with me. Took upwards of 35 shots and hated everyone of them when I returned home and looked at them on the computer. I really need to get better at this. I think my problem is that I just don't have "the eye" for photography. I really hope it comes with practice.

This is Watson. Watson was a naughty alpaca who would start fight with his brothers. He finally got his ass kicked and his ears bit and ended up in the penalty box with medication on his ear. Don't be like Watson.

The alpaca has fuzzy fleece on its head, dark eyes, and visible lower teeth. Its ears are pointed straight up and are stained a bright pinkish-purple from an antiseptic spray.

Remember a few days back when I told you I had a pic of some #wildflowers 🌼 by a brick wall 🧱 (but then I got an actually awesome photo of St Margaret's at sunset)? Welp... Here's my scintillating #WildflowerWednesday contribution.

A question for photographers:

Do you use a photo storage service? If so, which do you use? The only one that I am aware of is flickr. Or do you, instead, self-host and use your own website?

Thanks!

Thanks to everyone for the very helpful comments. All were/are very helpful.

Looks like self-hosting and using Immich is the way to go. I've been wanting to do a bit of self-hosting and it looks like this will push me in the that direction.

Thanks, again!

Inspired by the absolutely incredible photos of #fungi 🍄 posted by the ridiculously talented @arcturus recently, I took a shot when I ran into a shocking profusion of #mushrooms on my hike a couple of days ago. Alas, my very first #FungiFriday will also have to be a #shittember post. Even though I took dozens of photos, I got nothing I was hoping for. In fact (and I'll blame this on my exhaustion, the waning light, and my lack of eyeglasses), I'll be perfectly honest: I thought I was focusing on the mushroom in the foreground. 🤣 Anyway, here it is...

I think it's very helpful when photographers include the equipment used to take a photo they've shared. Thanks to all who do this.

No.1 - Abstract photography

Another shot of the St. Louis Arch that I took during my bike commute home. This one was taken in 2023. I'm pretty lucky that my daily commute takes me through the St. Louis Arch National Park to the Metro station.
