The autumn shift has properly taken hold now and I’m loving it. So are these little guys! https://buff.ly/cuJI0Ua

Close-up photograph of a dense cluster of small, pale woodland mushrooms sprouting from a dark, moss-covered tree stump. The mushroom caps are smooth and dome-shaped, with creamy white edges and warm yellowish-tan centres. Slender, curving pale stems tangle together beneath the canopy of caps. In the foreground, a mossy twig rests in soft focus, while the shadowy, textured bark creates a moody, earthy background.

🐻 ICYMI: In the #Angeles National Forest, a young black #bear stumbles upon a small #skunk along a quiet woodland path. Photographer Robert Martinez captured the encounter on a remote motion-sensor camera, showing the curious bear backing off after sizing up the skunk's defenses.

I'd love to know why so many houses in a certain part of #Putney are surmounted by sphinxes. Which by Barnes have become lions.
A makers mark for a certain builder or estate perhaps?

(Also, 'sphinges' is an acceptable plural of #sphinx. If I have to know this, so do you.)

To celebrate "Ancestor Appreciation Day"; I found this old photo in my mom's things of my great grandparents, Annie and Lee. I never met them, but my grandma would often talk about them.

I've also included the cover of my grandma's book that nicely displays she and her siblings.

In celebration of Ancestor Appreciation Day; A really old image of my great grandparents, Annie and Lee. They both passed away several years before I was born. But my grandma often spoke about them.

An image of my grandma's book, "Chickaloon Spirit". It includes several old photos. A photo of my grandma in the middle and photos of her siblings surrounding her. My younger brother and graphic artist, Dimi helped design this cover too.

The hole we find ourselves in is one we have allowed. We have watched it being built around us. Perhaps we even helped to gather the stones, to place them in the walls, thinking we were protecting ourselves. But as the walls rise, we can look upward and see enough of a wider world to realize that the protection is for those who fear our creativity and our humanity. We cannot be contained by those who are narrow and selfish unless we continue to allow it. And for the sake of our multitudes, we must break from these restrictions and free ourselves into new and more equitable possibilities.
