Twice during the hike up #Wendelstein,
I thought I ran across a patch of Elephant skin lying around. I wonder what carved these fine lines in different directions? Scale: both stones are ~30cm across.

#TextureTuesday #Rocks #Stone #NaturePhotography #NatureUpClose #Photography #fujifilm #FujifilmXSeries #tamron #sooc

Close-up of a stone with deeply carved fine lines filling the frame, resembling a gray, wrinkled animal skin with thick folds and cracked texture.

Square, weathered stone slab embedded in dirt and small rocks, covered with shallow carved lines, with patches of grass along the edges and low sunlight casting shadows across the surface.

Muurschildering in Mexico, Ed van der Elsken, 1960

#Muurschildering #Mexico #EdvanderElsken #European #KätheKollwitz #MaxBeckmann #VanDerElskens #fotografie #photography #EdVanDerElsken #EdvanderElsken

http://www.rijksmuseum.nl/en/collection/RP-F-2019-298-9-64

The image is a black and white photograph of a densely packed, dark-toned mural. The artwork appears to be an expressionist piece depicting numerous figures in various poses and states of activity or emotion. Some individuals are wearing period costumes reminiscent of European history, while others wear more modern attire. There's a mix of adults and children, with some looking at each other, engaging in conversation, or performing tasks such as holding a baby. The scene is dynamic, with no single figure dominating the composition; instead, it captures what seems like an everyday life moment from multiple angles simultaneously.

Notable features include expressive lines that emphasize movement and tension within the crowd, as well as contrasts between light and dark areas to add depth to the figures. Some individuals are partially obscured by others or framed in shadows, suggesting a sense of anonymity or perhaps commentary on societal roles and interactions. The background is less detailed but includes elements like trees and architectural structures, which provide context for an outdoor setting.

This mural could be seen as representing social issues, historical narratives, or the everyday life struggles of people from different walks of life, rendered in a style that prioritizes emotion over realistic representation. It's reminiscent of works by artists such as Käthe K [...]

#Toboggan auf der #Wiesn #Oktoberfest

I tried to get some motion blur, but would have needed an ND filter in this sunlight.

#Photography #fujifilm #FujifilmXSeries #fujinon #sooc #StreetPhotography

A colourful attraction on the Oktoberfest, called Toboggan. A tower built of metal beams painted in red, green and yellow against a blue sky. Within are steps leading up. Circling the tower in a downward spiral is a wooden side.

A different part of the attraction, also built in a similar way. A ramp leading up from the ground to the first floor of the tower. On the ramp a fast conveyor belt transports people up.
In the frame a woman in a red, white and black dress is driving on the belt, blurred by the motion. Next to her are two support employees with yellow shirts.

Looking across the calm reflective surface of a wide river trees of various sizes can be seen on the distant shore. The red and orange tinge of autumn can be seen on the trees as well as other bushes and grasses to the right and in the foreground. Pink and yellow flowers can also be seen along the bottom edge.

Wasser. Feder. Reflexion.
Water. feather. Reflection.

#Fotografie #photography #nature #naturephotography #Closeup #TextureTuesday

A white little fluffy feather floats on a dark watering hole. The focus is on the middle of the feather, you can see the reflection of the fine down on the dark water surface. Some sky, gray-blue, something green is also reflected, but blurred.

A close-up, sepia-toned photograph showing the exposed, intricate root systems of two large trees on a riverbank. The thick tree trunks stand elevated, while a dense network of gnarled roots reaches down into the dark, leaf-littered ground. In the background, thick branches and foliage create a shaded, almost mystical forest atmosphere.

Pfuhlschnepfe am Morgen

#photography #fotografie #naturephotography #naturfotografie #wildlifephotography #wildlifefotografie
